I think there is no proper monitoring that is happening lately and we are seeing more and more power thefts and also interms of businesses and Government organizations and also at homes, people take things for granted and they waste power like anything, people don't bother to switch of the lights and other electrical appliances which are being used and inturn waste a lot of energy.....Also Metering our energy consumption and collecting the data is not happening properly, so installing smart meters will help to keep a check on the consumption and proper data validation will be happening which will help in proper energy management... |

I also agree with this thought.
Again in India natural sources of energy areavailable in plenty e.g. solar energy, wind energy etc. and power requirement is tremendous. We should stop wastage of power at the same time Government should incourage people of medium to big scale organizations (industries, hotels, etc.) to produce their own energy and if possible help smaller ones.
Smart Meters which are fitted in seperate sections keeping official access only can be useful. main incoming supply cable to societies or buildings also need seperate meter to tally total supplied power with each individual meters.
Major focus should be on village areas,as in this areas numer of pumps runs unauthorised and in wasteful manner.
We can not blame government for wastage of Energy. We ourself need to caliber. Pubmaja in ONGC firm many engineers/people kept fan lights on while lunch hours. The management has to come forward and use sign boards for energy saving. For each unit saving the management convert in the REWARDS for the department. and every month this reward to be highlighted on the notice board.
Like that we have to develop strategy for all the organisation / Industry / Residential areas.
Automation will also help to restrict the wastages.

A sense of responsibility towards judicious use and energy conservation is the need of the hour by using smart energy metering and award/penalty for optimum/extravagant use ... Government needs to appoint independent honest agency, NGO or group of concerned responsible citizens to monitor the same ... ! |

ENERGY IS THE BIGGEST TOOL TO RUN EACH AND EVERY ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND VEHICLE IN FUTURE USE IF WE WANT SO
USE ENERGY TO RUN EACH & EVERY THING FOR EVER FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICES & VEHICLES
We desperately need to start optimising our use of energy sources before we talk of anything else.
There are many examples around us
1. Water wastage not just in use but in supply and destribution
2. Government employees and contractors burning garbage.
3. Non-segregation of waste
4. Excessive use of electricity in political party events.
and so on on on on on on!!!
Energy saving is equal to energy producing. Creating awareness, punishing for theft, using advanced/intelligent lighting system in public places, reducing transmission losses will save energy to great extend. I support Malladi for his views.

To make energy management we can try to save energy on those area where we can use alternates of same. For example: Govt already invent many products related to Solar Energy which is helpful to save energy. In International trade fair Delhi, there are lot of products related to solar energy shown in exhibition. Also energy saver instrument, which help to minimize the usage of energy without any interruption. I think it would better idea to save energy where it can applicable. But for this, everyone should take social responsibility.... |

|
Looking at energy cnsumption and limited resources it is very necessary to check all possible alternates for gaining energy.
Yes, we can apply this idea with social responsibilty......
Yes, I do agree with the statement.

This is also a very good idea to implement but without intereference of Politicians and with full command over it.
|
|
Immediate installation of SMART METERING to be done throughout India with Introduction of PRE-PAID BILLING SYSTEM so that for the paid amount only energy could be consumed.

As long as Political interference is there energy management will remain relusive AP started long back reforms in management/distribution which were heckled but unless you utilise your resources judicioulsy how much could be produced to this ever growing populace. This is top priority then we can enhance our production using multi feedstocks. GOI should have will to implement and lead India with a Policy which I doubt.

The U.S. Department of Energy has forecast steadily increasing energy demands over the next two decades. To meet these demands, utilities must construct thousands of megawatts of new generation capacity and invest billions of dollars in new transmission lines. Failure to upgrade the aging energy infrastructure could result in blackouts and power outages across the country, costing power consumers untold billions of dollars. In addition to addressing the massive infrastructure overhaul, utilities may face tougher environmental and climate change standards under the Obama administration. The proposed carbon cap-and-trade program could impose additional costs throughout the industry.
Faced with seemingly overwhelming hurdles, the electricity industry can take heart: stealing an idea from the technology industry, the nascent implementation of microgrids may provide utilities with a useful tool to combat the ever-increasing pressures.

Switch of when not in use -- easier said than done. So, go for automation. Everyone must have seen Municipal Corporation Street lights burning in day light!!! Go for automation and centralized monitoring. For more details, please write to me at s.santhiraj@gmail.com

The present T&D losses including unaccounted energy are about 30 % and there is need to reduce these losses through efficient management and the best operation & m aintenance practices of the transmission and distribution systems so that more energy is made available to ultimate consumers at reduced cost.

First of all Energy Conversation is Important. I am writing conversion not production because i think we can not produce energy as the Einstein law. Now we should think to covert the energy from various resource. Energy should be properly used. |
