How Executive MBA will be helpful to professionals?

idea posted by Resmi Maxim GENERAL MANAGER - OPERATIONS, SI PROPERTY (KERALA) PVT.LTD.,

I am doubtful whether an Executive MBA of short-term can cover all the fundamentals that a Manager should know and learn, if it is not for the sake of just having a Degree. Those with plenty of experience in preferably a Middle Management position can treat this as a crash or refresher course and improve on soft skills and management techniques. The EMBA should have been designed with an option of Electives enabling the Managers to focus on.

Friends,

This is an exciting debate, I have an exec MBA. An executive MBA is about changing personality, if an improvement in CTC is the sole discretion, even an MBA is not needed. Please note: AM Naik, has never changed job, since he joined as engineer in L&T.

Beauty of mba is it allows you to discover a better human being within yourself. People will develop strong reasoning. Many B-schools believe that experienced hands (~5 yrs) does well in to finish an MBA.

an experience of on job with atleast 5 years on managing projects, working on projects, member of setting up green field projects, managing people / production / shop floor / finance. he EMBA is real fit for working professionals as it gives a chance to use it rigtaway and understand the pros and cons of understanding the methodology. In my experience EMBA is more better than a fresh MBA.Most important is the university and team participation during the whole course. The business school should include students from wide industry and create a good atmosphere to discuss views and problems associated. At the least an EMBA would give you a path to make vise decisions and approach in all walks of carrier.

An EMBA can get you certain advantages:

1. Refinement of one's professional understandings & thought process that one has developed during one's professional stint till then.

2.Peer learning, the exposure of being associated with experienced professionals from different platforms creates ability to look things in different angles & all new & holistic approach to deal with many issues.

3.One can create an excellent network of professional from vivid backgrounds that may be fruitful to enhance business.

4.Gaining knowledge regarding the issues might come later in one's career; climbing rugs towards success.

With a fair good amount of work experience once can peruse an executive MBA which enables him to rise in his career directly to the executive positions in an organization. I believe that is the reason executive MBAs are very much necessary for corporates....

Preparation for management responsibilities

idea posted by Ahmed Sultan, ITC Airline Consultant

MBA is earned by completing a graduate business school program, in which students engage in traditional academic coursework and instruction based on real business challenges. Through this intensive experience that lasts one to two years (or more), the degree program prepares students for a lifetime of management responsibilities in business.

absolutely right mr. ahamed and then supported by mr. alex...

even i think that learning should never end and executive mba programme is desinged on the bassis of it... i am personally persuing it and have noticed several changes in me during this course.. we complete our mba by spending two years of hard work and then join a company to prove our expertice, the only thing we cant do is to implements all our thoughts that comes into our mind while doing our masters degree, into to realy life job... but executive mba is really gives u that feeling of implementing your thoughts because since then you have experienced the real life... so one can easily understand the meaning of MBA in better way by doing executive programmes.. it provides you a real life case study chosen....

E-MBA is always better, as per my opinion. Its all about how well you could establish correlation between practical and theoretical knowledge. Since you have some experience mean you know how the work get done at the practical level and now doing E MBA will give you insight of the differecnt management methodology and tools. Which surely going to benefit you.

Usually best E-MBAs offer the following:

Great pedagogy and leading researchers/practitioners as lecturers

Helps build an incredible network of people whom you could have otherwise not met [through just social networking]

Develop your knowledge in a variety of disciplines

Ideally it is beneficial to have these three criterias to shortlist the endless options for pursuing E MBA

An executive MBA is good for a person already on the management job and has the necessary skills of management.   An executive MBA will help him to climb the ladder of the heirarchy of Corporate positions.  Besides this, it can also help  when he changes his job.

3.  In this ever-changing world they wanted to know what’s new up there – in terms of tech, best practice, pro&sys,

4.  In today’s scenario one has to make every effort to advance both prof & personally to survive.

I agree with benedict The Executive MBA, commonly referred to as the EMBA, is designed specifically to enhance the careers of both working business professionals, managers and executives. The EMBA is usually geared towards professionals who are looking to update the general management skills and prepare themselves for career advancement opportunities.

What really sets the executive MBA apart from many other MBA programs is the level of experience and insights that students bring to the program. In most EMBA programs students' professional experience and expertise becomes an integral part of the curriculum. The EMBA truly offers a level of education not obtained in any other setting.

Gentlemen,

Generally in my 35 years of experience what I learnt is that  those MBA executive who mix the triditional management with professional management in a right proportion  are very successful, this proportion varies company to company. otherwise only professional mangers prove ruthless and counter productive in thier organisation.

Previously there was no MBA course in the world. Some professional bussiness men or experienced persons either educated or not, have cited their own ideas in the text books of MBA. Exchange of ideas betwee us, also provide vast knowldge.

Executive MBA is a show and exploitation of money either from the organisation or from individual. If the exutive is under-talent and having lack of good brain, than he may be recommended for executive training.

No. At the initial stage some industrialist, rich educated academician started the course. They have good link with top industrialist, and they able to manage the placement of their students. But now it is difficult. I see the MBA people are getting Rs. 5000 to 6000 per month.

The executive mba can help professionals get more knowledge of management fundamentals. The professional also becomes more eligibal for higher growth and promotions. The company actually needs higher educated persons because that gives the proof to the company that you are well qualified of the knowledge. You can then interfere in higher management working standards which company expects from you.
