Changing climate and increasing temparatures raising water levels in the oceans, decline in the ground water tables are ringing the alarm bells. Water storage capacity of dams are reducing drastically due to siltation. Will the major dams in India be soon become defunct? |

The change that we have started feeling in our cities due to the disbalance in the ecosystem. Summers not being warm anymore and winters not being cold or otherwise too hot or too cold as opposed to what it used to be few years back. This is an alarm from mother nature to wake up to the signs of self destruction or else it would be too late. The himalayas melting, the river beds oveflowing.........more frequent floods in places that dont get sufficient water and severe droughts in previously well to do landss..........thesa are all signs of global warming affecting India in a bad way. |

Actually India is one of the most vulnerable countries when it comes to effects of global warming. India has a vast coastal line and the rising sea levels caused by global warming will cause an ecological disaster. The Global warming has started affecting the Indian coastline with statistics suggesting a rising trend of 2.5 mm/year in the sea level in the region. |
