The US financial services industry were the biggest buyers of Indian technology services, and now due to the financial crisis IT companies in India are having a huge effect on people in the business, the employee and the employer.

Its has been a tough call for the HR professionals as the focus is shifted to layoffs..

By increasing the variable pay and changing the compensation packages from 70-30 (fixed-variable) to 50-50.The employees can benefit from this as it gives greater stake in the organization's success and performance.

Hiring less doesn't mean hire any one who is not fit for the job, IT companies should hire the right candidate who is fit for a particular project which the company has...

Well I forgot to mention, even when there is a slowdown, companies have projects which they have to work upon.

So the company should hire only those who are good at what the project is all about. HR should take in consideration the current needs...

Communicate as close to the real situation as possible with the employees , HR can create a sense of security.

As more and more layoffs happening, job losses can create insecurity which in turn will kill the working environment and morale of the employee. So if your organisation in not planning to layoff, communicate about it.Communicate as close to the real situation as possible

How convenient it is to blame the government.. There are flaws in government and then there were always flaws there.. now we can see them clearly because many people are coming up and giving voice to the wrong practices..
