The opportunity of India's becoming a cloud computing hub lies in realising that, it has been able to free his capacity up, and now its not easy to drive some of the new projects faster. There is no dearth of projects in the pipeline. Opting for the clouds is yet to gain momentum since the mindset towards it is yet to be correct. Just be clear with the providers how the security measures can be taken and if it evolves into a strong segment, im sure it will help the companies to save in a lost of cash. |

As comparing with other countries in India large no. of IT trained people are there. Which is really a plus point for indian companies to provide best service to clients around the world in a very cost-effective manner. So probably all other player must be eying on India because of its potential.
I have just understand a little when I read the idea. But I think this idea is best
Cloud computing enables businesses to remotely access computing resources on demand in particular to provide delivery mechanism for online services to their customers or clients and also to handle their own business processes without owing the information and communication infrastructure.
Since business enterprises pay strictly on usage of a shared IT infrastructure that may consist of web services, applications, processing of data, storage etc, it is definitely cost saving albeit there do exist concerns for data and application security. Also server centric virtualization involved in cloud computing makes it an optimized IT resource utilization model.
Piloting cloud computing with security and scalability focus, Indian IT industry can gain by developing and implementing user-friendly applications to access the cloud computing resources and also for monitoring their usage.

increase the internet bandwith will boost cloud computing. i think at present we have a bandwith limitation of only 2mbps but developed nations have 8 mbps or more. |

Indian companies will definitely emerge as a key players in delivering value through this new Buzz word Cloud Computing. Cloud can be provided at 3 levels 1.Infrastructure 2.Platform 3.Software. Well, most of the major Indian IT companies already provides Saas which is the part of providing Software services on demand . We will have to develop expertise in Platform and Infrastructure levels of CC which will drive the revenues for IT companies in near future. Adopting CC will help enable companies to migrate the cost booked under Capex to Opex. This would surely bring cheers to CFOs !!!

It seems inevitable, & in a sense it is only a logical procession of technology to deviate towards extensive mobile environment. The power to choose on the go, add to that selective payment for resources you use, is bound to happen in an ever evolving & complicated market where PC's have their obituary written in advance(Minus hardcore gamers). Indian market is totally dependent on 2 counts: our perspective & mindset plus global market dynamics. Even today our corporates are wary of trends that have become norms elsewhere. For the second argument. when Internet is integral, it is only logical its technical architect & variations follow suit. Can we become a CC hub: do we have the resources, trust, what abt a market monopolised & a degree of other question must be answered first. |

Of course India can become a cloud computing hub..there is nothing that Indian can't do....Now a days India is concentrating on Chandrayaan project....so she needs some time to become a cloud computer. |

Could computing is even older than personal computing so i don't think that should be mentioned as a reason.
I think cloud computing has to be materialized before it can get off the ground. people download because then they have an object that contains the data. If you can convince people the tiny netbooks and smartphones they have in their hands contains the data they poses then cloud computing is on the winning hand.
Another hurdle is the need of a subscription for the data the people own because of the bandwidth they use accessing their data. If you download it you can access it any time you want without paying.
I don't mind a smaller OS but the linux distributions aren't getting smaller either.

Any kind of country-wide technology depends upon the common infrastructure ... which is a domain of the Regulator. By example of 3G gadgets success in India - without a functional 3G network (!?!) it is obvious that ripe technologies might benefit from somewhat less ripe minds on the side of the Regulator. Restrictions and delays are their domain, and the Industry will be better off if the efforts are unified in some kind of common initiative to promote requirements of advanced technologies. Say, some advisory group or something. Maybe a forum. |

Yes Cloud computing is an old concept but the capacity in which it is to be used is more of a Pay per View service. To the original question Can India.....? It would be better to designate a time span to make this topic more objective. Agree in totality with some of the above mentioned points about technical as well as psychological trends posing hinderance. And Reference to PC is just a way defining continuous evolutionary patterns in technology. Won't bet against my own argument. |

It seems to me if anyone in India was interested in starting their own cloud computing hub all they would have to do is create one for themselves and then start connecting to other hubs .. but again I know very little about C.C. Hubs at present. Below is more information on the subject matter: http://content.dell.com/us/en/enterprise/cloud-computing.aspx?ST=cloud%20computing%20is%20Advanced&dgc=ST&cid=53239&lid =1364963&acd=77835,20278,0,93950412,762165591,1268404976,, 21565630,33220878013 http://www.rackspacecloud.com/ Someone has mentioned in this Idea discussion that Certifications and compliance - why not Masters or even Phd's be given or earned first .. ha, just put the darn Cloud up online. Learn by Doing the actual work ... then if you want to teach you are qualified as one who has done this thing ...

India is the best cost effective player in the emerging cloud computing arena. We have the facilities, infrastructure, various IT corridors spread across A grade, B grade cities and most importantly the highly qualified/skilled cheap work force which is available abundently. In order to succeed in this sector and get assignments/contracts across the globe, we should focus on process oriented approach, certifications and various international compliances which are necessary. With advantages in our favour, India can become favorite destination for cloud computing hub. |

Thanks for sharing important information. Internet has completely changed the way we look at things.. |
The new models, the E6 and the X7, will go on sale for 340 euros ($491.6) and 380 euros respectively excluding subisidies and taxes, later this quarter. In February, Nokia's new chief executive Stephen Elop dumped Symbian software -- which lost... |
No ways there is a lot more than just video games but yes excessive use of video games can harm in other ways like it reduces physical activities, interaction time, eating habits and harms eyes. |
