The manufacturing industry is the backbone of any economy since it helps in the overall growth of productivity, employment, and it also strengthens agriculture and service sectors. The astronomical growth in worldwide distribution systems and Information Technology, coupled with opening of trade barriers, has led to stupendous growth of global manufacturing networks, designed to take advantage of low-waged yet efficient Indian work force.

So according to you, how can Indian Manufacturing sector be globalised?

Focusing to eliminate bottlenecks and improving urban infrastructure

idea posted by Mridula Maity Product Development Manager, Rugel

India is slowly shedding its image from being an agriculture based country to a manufacturing based country and thus bottlenecks like under utilisation of technology, Poor infrastructure, Over staffed operations and expensive financing and bureaucracy should be immediately arrested and eradicated to ensure further growth of this industry. To ensure elimination of the above-mentioned aberrations form the Indian manufacturing sector the government of India must focus on areas like improving the urban infrastructure, ensuring fair competition and access to markets, reduction of import duties, quality improvements in vocational and higher education, increased investment in R&D and support of SMEs.

Plenty of sense & rational expertise in your point of view dear. Three great likely agendas confined to urban infrastructure, reduction in import duties, vested interest and investment in R&D would be highly possible, welcome and well accepted. With respect to the education part there's only this lacking practical aspect or flaw in the system which fortunately or unfortunately still stress a great deal on the theoritical part otherwise education in the country is up there with the very best. SME's once again subject to government subsidies, rebates and of course political inteference. Fair competition & access to markets sounds a shade sceptical which would be subject once again to governmental approach, cost factors, export norms and duties, promotions, etc.

By inducing Competitive advantage

idea posted by Rajesh Kamal Sales/BD Manager, Larsen & Toubro

Manufacturing is essential for maintaining a balanced growth of the country which can create large employment opportunities. The need for competitiveness in manufacturing among nations has gathered momentum supported by a advanced technology, and high-end process development programmes. These days, fast reductions in the manufacturing cost have become one of the core aspects for increasing competitiveness in manufacturing sector and Competitive advantage is a firm's ability to transform inputs into goods and services at a maximum profit on a sustained basis, better than competitors. So, I think government should take interest in inducing Competitive advantage to globalise manufacturing sector.

Any Sector leave alone Manufacturing  can survive in Global arena only if it has competitive advantage over the other players.Be it cost ,be it technology or be it quality. It has to be at the edge.Lean Manufacturing,Standardization of portfolio,In house R&D,Footprints in other nation, following organic and inorganic growth models,Process integration both backward and forward, continuous manpower skill upgradation,TQM and Process automation could be need of the hour.

Creating an eco-sytem where there is room for fair competition, innovation and opportunity. This can be done through:

1. Through more academia and industry colloboration.

2. Better infrastrcutre, not just physical but education and research.

3. Creating products not just for niche markets but for larger rural market as well through low cost, low maintenance and most importantly with better mileage.

Collabratiing with foreign companies will help indian manufacturing sector basically in two ways

1)It will help in combining the foreign technology with huge skilled manpower of India resulting in better & innovative products.

2)Indian industry can  penetrate the global market in a better way so as to sustain for a longer time.

Today every field has a need of synchronization with IT. As it is the age of Information Technology, Manufacturing will be enhanced with it's implementation. The work will be faster, reliable and quality work. There is a huge scope of "Design & Manufacturing" which is the bi-product of IT enabled manufacturing Technology.

what i want to say is very simple if the manufacturing industries maintain there quality then it is indian economy and its globalised diversified citizens who will take the product form the root to top.what we have to do is just try to be the best in every feilds which ever you enter.indians as we all know have sufficient money so they are the media to comunicate the product globally which later leads to globalisation of the manufacturing sectors."be wise with your working company & be wise to your country".

I think Indian Manufacturing sector can be globalised if the following things persists in the business environment;

1. Our import/export policy should be very transpernt.

2. Duties on the import/export should be very liberalised.

3. Management must have skill to handle any unwanted situation with ease.

4. Company rules and regualtion should be same for everyone.

5. Maintain high moral of the employee.

6. Auditing of the every department should be done half yearly basis.

7. Quality of the individual is more importment than the product.

8. Qulity of the product should not compromised.

9. R & D team always should be in swing for the contineous development.

10. Maketing team should be consists by the cahllengers only.
