Generally businesses and industries create large amounts of waste in their daily activities. Reducing the amount of rubbish created at work through methods such as recycling will benefit the business as well as the environment. Waste disposal costs are greatly reduced through recycling and ultimately, less waste ends up in landfills. |

Today in industries we can see that more prominenc given towards professional training and education to the upcoming talents. In recent survey it is shown that through proper training to employees we can make them aware of the importance of going Green and thus reducing wastes. With this industries can establish environmentally sustainable manufacturing practices. And according to me this is the key strategy in promoting the environment as a driver and opportunity for economic growth and development. |

We now should switch over to smart life style wherein we use more of sunlight less of electricity, drink less & less of tea & coffee, reuse the paper & all plastic articles. We should not waste electricity as major CO2 emission comes from energy sector.I think we are switching over to paperless work practices,we are making our homes as well as offices greener & are using more of natural sunlight & air.

The first criterion should be to change the mindset of the manufacturer to de-focus from profit at any cost to profit with social responsibility. Innovative thinking is the key. every manufacturing process has the possibility of energy savings in-built into it. The manufacturer should encourage innovators to provide the answers. CO2 instead of being released into the atmosphere should be trapped within the earth by passing it through lime or dissolving in water and used for other manufacturing processes. Energy saving devices should be incorporated into every manufacturing process to capture waste energy and recycling the same, which would help in reducing the cost of production which in itself will provide an incentive to the manufacturer. e.g. installation of a scrap and sponge iron preheater at the induction furnace or arc furnace. I have developed one such which I'm ready to share

I have seen many leading manufacturers using digital environment to produce virtual products and perfect manufacturing processes before making physical plant investments. By simulating production in a digital factory, companies can evaluate multiple plant and process designs before investing in a prototype. This will ensure designs are produced “right the first time.” It is a faster, more efficient, error-free manufacturing process, and promises a higher level of information-sharing throughout the supply chain and also ensures that there is no further investment in the process due to which less energy is used and this is the recent approach followed in many industries. |

India has vast hydro potential which needs to be harnessed for electricity production. If developed countries are truely serious they should come forward for taking up financial burden and technological assistance. |

In my opinion, there will be a better chance if India can access cheap natural gas overseas under long-term (25-30 years) arrangements, it should consider setting up captive fertiliser and/or gas liquefaction facilities in such countries. This would... |
I think, the main factor forcing the government's hands is the rising deficit and cost of economic stimulus, farm support prices besides social sector spendings. The Government does not allow state-run fuel retailers to fix petrol, diesel, kerosene... |
As we all know solar energy is going to be the future of energy sector. But many say in the recent days the solar energy projects are heading towards a wrong direction due to lack of proper investment. Have investments in solar energy slowed down? |
