Help in Recession

idea posted by Rajeev Khare Corporate Lawyer
Marketing in Tough conditions is very difficult, but to me  Law firms and its personnel have a special ability to analyze both the up side and potential down sides of a given situation. Law firms can demonstrate their leadership role by using these skills to proactively help clients and prospects evaluate their own business environment, by this both the organization and the law firm can benefit each other.......

Almost everyone is down with having only what they started with. Unless you operate in a very lean and mean mode, you may find your firm in very rough waters. Always Keep your doors open at any cost even if you must pare down to a skeleton staff. If you are careful and creative in managing your resources, you have a good chance of being prosperous again when business rebounds in the future...

Personally, I think Indian law firms are far off from the 'market turbulence' compared to several other jurisdictions such as Germany, Spain and many others. In the Indian context, firms may however need to refine and/or demonstrate client service standards, set-out clear terms of business and terms of engagement, and set-out a mutually beneficial retainer contracts.

Providing various services by Law firms can actually facilitate the internal client discussions or external negotiations with vendors, that will help clients make effective business decisions in regard to cost reduction, supply chain management, revenue enhancement, or improved customer service. With this varied services you can still make it through the crisis....

I would suggest that by sheer persevernce and fortitude with all ethics, the legal firms can survive the market turbulance, to elloborate, the chances and scopes of litigations are increasing, so do the modes of dispute redrassals irrespectieve of the turbulance and ofcourse, the clients may seek for financial relaxations from the lawyers as a cost control/management technique for which I  must say if the law firms responds positievely ,their reputation and credibility among the clients will be enchansed and many litigants may approach them.We all know that a sucessful lawyer is not neccessararly a good lawyer and in indian BAR, predominance to sucess is almost invariably attributed to extrenious factors like, political nexus, communal back up etc...,whatever it may be talent never goes unnoticed so do modesty, benevolence, dedication, honesty, fairness etc...So I must say those who moots such questions must atleast read Gandhiji's "My experiments with truth' which will give a real insight..as advocasy which is a noble service by itself has now dilapedated to the extent of a mere profession based upon market turbulation.......

instead of increasing the clent base without any basis. Try to retain the client base with abundant care and caution and to their fullest satisfaction. Hence, to sum up existing clent should be satisfied first.

No i don't agree with Anant, they are just implementing this fee hike in a wrong time, when there is financial crisis that is upon the corporate houses all over, a fee hike is much more burden on their budget woes that is already there.
