The construction work should be handled/executed under the supervision of highly skilled engineers & the workers should be able to comply to the instructions of the engineer. Moreover, the contractor should support the engineer and provide him with best quality raw materials |

Metro construction is for providing facilities to the people. The routes are surveyed and the best possible alternative is chosen. The least possible damage and inconvenience to the public is ensured. The construction works begin negotiating or rather encroaching the public utilities centers.Delhi Metro could be accomplished because of public participation.Of course, the public concern should be properly addressed. |

Yes, the people around should be taken into consideration and their participation in such a huge task is a must. A well co-ordinated team can do this with earnest. Everytime, when there is road blockades or so, proper notice should be given earlier. People around might be shifted nearby and be rehabilited. Efforts may be taken to do the job at night time, as far as possible. Co-operation might be sought from all stakeholdrs during the construction work. And finally, the project must be finished in time
The public participation is very important if the projects undertaken are for their benefit. The participation bestow upon them as stakeholders. It is more a tribute to the Delhi people than the Metro authorities that the Delhi Metro could be successfully accomplished.

METRO Projects are coming under the care of both central&state government, bcoz central government is allocating fund in budget,it is a time bound project not like BOT, they are utilising allocated fund in stipulated period of time and state government have more power& roles in completing the project, they have premier responsibility to handover the project |

Proper administration in this regard is very important. Such as the contractors are obliged to follow the engineers instruction both technically and safety issues .So that no public is affected. Moreover both the state and the central are involved in it ,have to select an agency which takes care of all this issues,no matter all the responsibilities has to be taken by all 3.

Any new ventures are Normally opposed-that is nature. Also Bangalore-which does not have good commutation, unlike El.Train,etc.,as in other cities, must be the first one to have Metro. Though this idea was conceived about 15 years ago, local Auto, Pvt transport persons saw to it that it will be cancelled/delayed. Finally it has been launched-let us welcome it, though some difficulty is there. Imagine for a general travel distance Metro will take only 30 mnts, average, when compared to 1.5 hrs now.(In such time you can come back completing the work) It has to be studied how DMRC went on such project-much to the Delhi public praise for rendering minimum-most trouble-as most of the raod blocks were done in the night-Good Planning. As long as the construction is going on the govt. should see that public is not affected by it. It should be responsible for any mishap or inconvenience caused to the public. Further, the govt. should set up a team that will survey the construction sites properly & see everything is going on well. |

Proper Planning, Experienced & Skilled contractor, excellent administration, public cooperation, suitable construction scheduling, etc are host of factors that affect smooth execution of any project in urban areas. Focusing on a single reason won't yield any better result. |

The planning of work schedules should be done such that the public is affected least by the construction activities. More activities can be planned in night time instead of day time so that vehicles movement are not affected much due to the construction activity. The heavy machines used for the construction can be brought in to the site only when it is really required. Its because it occupies a lot of space and can result in bottle neck in the roads.

At construction sites it is obvious that the roads will get damaged and so are the surrounding buildings. What can be done is that the roads should be filled up with loose gravels & sand to facilitate easy moving. Further, portions of the buildings that face the construction site should be covered with covers to protect it & the people from dust, smoke & flying debrises. |

proper planning of traffic diversion and streamline flow of traffic during construction period is neccessary

Maximum amount of work should be undertaken at night and monitoring should be ensured by Supervisory staff at the site. In fact, it would be safer if the traffic is closed where Metro work is going on.
