i feel recession will obviously have impact in our profession. people are scared to spend money.So they don`t want to spend on litigation.
I agree with you Mr.Uppal that some associates will be out of job as we have seen in other industry "LAYOFFS, JOBCUTS"
I think the firms will become more competitive in choosing the associate. And also they will restrict recruiting or recruitment will be done only from top law school.

Future Lawyers will opt for bankruptcy law as more and more firms are declaring bankruptcy. Law Firms which deals in bankruptcy may see a boom.

It will be a tougher for the lawyers to find job during the recession.
ITs a terrible idea to become a Bankruptcy attorney as economy will eventually improve and demand for bankruptcy lawyers will dry up.

litigation is some times compulsory, but can be postponed due to financial constrains and ultimately their will be more cost effective and professional bargain for the fees from the clients.Even some new legal associates might lose jobs. |

I dont think recession will affect the lawyer community. In fact the demand for lawyers increase because of serious financial setback - not necessarily bankruptcy - to their clients. Needless to say, we need lawyers, only when we are in troubles, right ?
