I use Airtel's Mcheck. I pay many bills and transfer money from my moblie phone. Its out ther already!
Seriously a great idea! It would be mcuh easier for customer to sit at home and SMS a product while making the payment online. The product would be delivered home. No uss at all.
Applications like mobile-wallet and payment through credit card using mobile are available , which are safer , reliable and convenient to shoppers and retailers.
I strongly bat for mobile payments.

Big Format retailers can exploit GPS features to explain the locations of various products across the levels, racks, mezannines etc. Other fomrats can utilize the 3G & nextgen phones to self-scan the products by the customer themselves so that waiting time at cash tills can be reduced. Nitty-gritty's to be worked out in tandem by retailers, their ERP & POS partners and Producers if necessary Normal messaging facility for updating the prices, offers, new product introductions etc are already on.. |

I think blue tooth technology would be a great help to retailers in attracting customers to their shop. It can inform customers through blue tooth when the customer is near by to their shop about their shop, their products, rates discounts etc and can attract them to their shop. |

i agree with your thought and indeed it is a very impressive idea. But be aware that with the information there is also a possibility of transmitting virus which will affect most of the phones which comes in contact with them through. So before you even think about employing such a technique please ensure that you have a good anti-virus software installed in your phone. Besides only very few people will be keeping their bluetooth on always. Personally I turn on the bluetooth only when it is required and turn it off as soon as my work is finished. Also one of the safety features which is provided in present days blue tooth equipment is that you have to enter a pass code to establish connection with another phone. So your idea will have very few impact. However, your idea seems very fertile to me and if some solutions are devised to tackle these drawbacks i think it ha svery huge potential.

Retailers can place screens which will provide details about their various products and can ask the customers to SMS them in case of more information. This would attract customers as it will save their time as well as effort. Customers will find it easy that they don't have to go to the retail shop. |

The latest technologies in the area of mobile, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and web technologies will help retailers a lot. When the representatives who takes orders of the products visit retail shops, mobile phones embedded with an RFID reader will read the store and location data into the mobile application. Mobile application in his phone will be filled with store and location details. It will make him ready to take the order and he dont have to waste time on other things. The order taken can be send to the head office using GPRS connections immediately and representatives in the head office can get the orders using web. It helps to save money and time for them. |

SMS is one of the best ways to communicate and to advertise. There are two ways of Advertising on SMS. 1st is the Blast using a database which is LEAST effective and 2nd is an innovative way of advertising like how www.160by2.com does.
How many people ignore sms sent by their friends? I dont think it would happen that a friends msg is ignored. That is what we do at 160by2. The name itself says it all.. 80 characters of the msg is for FREE and the rest 80 is for Ads.
This makes the readability of the sms shoot upto 100% and this is one of the most effective ways to make a person the brand ambassador of the product.

Using Wi-Fi hotspots retailers can answer some of the questions of customers like where is the particular retailers nearest store, where can he buy one of their products right now etc. That is they can give clear information on the location of the shop, the nearest shop that a customer can go,on mobile phones. By doing this marketers can not only increase awareness of their product/service but they can drive consumers into a store immediately. |

Make the site fast. Use graphics effectively, not for the sake of it. Make the checkout process as easy as possible. Again, ensure that the site is not dynamically database driven unless this is absolutely essential – nothing is faster than doling out... |
Hi Gorakshnath, I think India will not go back to its rural base because the rural people want to enter into the urban economy. If at all we go we cannot give surety for quality products. Which economy does not matter, it is the minds of the people... |
We were able to count at least 50 items that retail for just Re 1 or under. The amazing part is that there are several industries that thrive solely on these products. Now just imagine that such products not only manage to recover costs, but also make... |
