Than giving a separate state, seperate backward areas of Telengana first and give it to KCR and let him develop them first, as Hyderabad which is already developed let it be a buffer city, where its services can be obtained by both the states, the main issue here was lack of development of Telangana region right, so give the backward areas of Telangana first, let them develop them and by that time Government can come with a better proposition for everyone there, and this will make sure the normalcy is restored in the region and people's lives are not affected. |

hyderabad is the capital city of telangana there should be no arguement/debate on this
now a days everyone are looking for a power and i think this is a political game and i want to say that I totally belong to Andhra state and in the same way i m not supporting andhra r telangana. If the seperation happen then telangana state will become a naxlites state and naxlite will rule the state and its obvious. then the matter of funds will obviously objects by government then telangana will become the poorer than the poor state without the support of government. And the present issue is abt if the seperation happens then who will become the next C.M of that state.

This opportunity should be utilised to introduce a new culture of mass debate on the sensitive national issues in the country. There should be a forum where the arguments given by mass, in favour and against the topic should be properly evaluated and then the decision should be taken. The issue of Telangana is not a topic related to Andhra only. As we all know that decision on Telangana is further going to bolster the rampant demand for smaller states throughout the country. People creating chaos for their demand are hardly thinking about anything else except thinking about achieving their short term goals. They have got nothing to do whether the newly created state is going to be economically viable or not, whether the formation of small states will further aggravate the naxal threat etc. Hence it's necessary that a mass scale debate session is organised before really reaching a final decision. It's unfortunate that we have adopted a culture to resort to large scale destruction and disturbing the normal life in order to get our demands fulfilled. An introduction of a new culture of peaceful arguments and discussions will serve as a pillar to move towards new civilised society. |

Let us look at it in as calm a state of mind as possible as of now -
Why a separate State?
Let us site some reasons and analyze what and how things should be done to solve the problem.
1) Development? Can any Government including the Central Government ignore or undermine a region? If it can, then, we need to build in mechanisms in our constitution to make sure that they do not happen. Be it Government of AP/MP/UP or INDIA. Instead of bifurcation, people in power should be thinking "CORRECTION" - if it is based on Development issue that is.
2) Self Respect? This is a very emotive issue and needs careful thinking on the part of both sides. What does one mean by Self Respect being the reason for bifurcation? Does it mean that the self respect of a region is being compromised by the Government and so the region needs a Government of its own? Or does it mean that non-Government agencies and establishments, viz. businesses, art groups, culture groups etc., are compromising the with a region's self respect? If it is the Government then, what the Central Government should do is obvious. Bifurcation is not necessary - unless - the State Government can not be controlled by the Centre. We are talking Federal Governance here. And if the self respect is being compromised by non-Government agencies and establishments, the question needs to be answered is - Will those agencies and establishments act in any different manner if the State is bifurcated? Will it serve the purpose of upholding your self respect? Is your self respect intact if these agencies and establishments contrinue to compromise with the region's self respect inspite of bifurcation? Will Bifurcation stop them from compromising with the region's self respect? Imagine a movie being made for Coastal Andhra audience only and think the appreciation that the movie will receive if Telegana is ridiculed? And imagine vice versa - a movie made for Telangana audience with a cliche' on Coastal Andra. Will bifurcation save any region from ridicule?
So what is it? Development or Self Respect or Political Vendetta?
What if tomorrow the Government of India decides to bifurcate the State based on the argument that Coastal and Rayalaseema regions have taken advantage of Telangana region? (That is the whole point - is it not? That these two regions/one region benefited at the cost of Telangana).
This bifurcation, in its bare essential elements, will mean that the Central Government acting under the Constitution of Union of India, believes that one region has taken advantage of the other region and this can not be corrected without siding with one of the regions. Thus, acting in a manner to brand a region as a set of people who are different and dangerous when you compare them with the other region. We may talk at length but this is the essence. If the state is bifurcated then the Central Government of India is saying - i) the atrocities committed by one of the regions on the other are proved, ii) these atrocities can not be corrected, iii) it is important to bifurcate because the region wanting to be together is dangerous to the other region. It follows that the Central Union Government is branding one region to be deceitful and dangerous.
Now, Sir! Please think about this and then answer the following question - Can the people of Coastal Andhra and Rayala Seema expect to be governed in all faith by the Union Government?? Why should they believe the Central Governmnet any more?? And finally, why should they be part of a Union which considers them deceitful and dangerous? Does it not make sense to agitate, take international assistance and form a Country of their own to take care of their SELF RESPECT?
Telengana Issue is very Emotive issue amongst the people of this State. While the demand seems to be picking up very recently past YSR's Regime. What were these people doing when YSR was at the helm. He Did had an support another eminent leader like Mr Chandra Babu Naidu to contain this . Suddenly the State is left with no leaders to sustain or evovle a consesous state of mind. And Added to this , Maoists / Naxalites have sprung up calling for a state wide bandh during 1st week of Jan'10. Where was courage & spirit about 100 days back. Smaller States means lesser Police Force/ Less Police Intelligence/ Less Coordination Amongst Various Forces and this would probably lead to lawlessness. There are many families amongst so called settlers who have married their children from Telengana. Would this mean that even families living together should divide? Why encourage the idea of blocking the roads or building up a wall . If the most envious Berlin wall was broken recently why are we allowing to build the same wall here. I think the debate should be taken place on a larger platform than attending the press conferences being organised by few individuals. What is happening in Osmania University today is not a reflection of entire Telengana. Lets call for a larger debate / referendum or even elections may be to decide. Please note that the same organisations did not even participated in Hyderabad Corporation Elections fearing backlash are holding up the students fate at the Campus today.

I think everybody is forgetting the history at this moment. Andhra and Hyderabad were separate states before formation of andhra pradesh state. At that time, the then prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was initiated by proposing the formation. one of the condition he proposed was "whenever people feel necessary either from andhra or telangana can separate". For further clarification please read "Gentle men agreement 1956 and subsequent submission made by Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru". Therefore, the issue of Telangana is completely different from the issues of other parts of country. Regarding the question "what government should do?", since Telangana people are not interested to be a part of andhra pradesh, it is better to be separated. There is no issue at all. Let he Telangana like whatever the status it was previously. Most of the people are commenting regarding the development of Hyderabad. One of the point of "Gentle men agreement 1956" was andhra people should not purchase any land from telangana, budget should allocate 60:40 ratio between telangana and andhra and so many. all the agreements were violated by the governments. Because of all these reasons, the current situation. At least now the government should wake up and declare separate "Telangana State". |

jawahar lal nehru was a highly confused man who enforced confusion in india and we all are revelling in our confused state of minds ..
a man who couldnot even convince himself that whether we needed socialism or capitalism and imposed on us the status quo by having hybridism ...
not even his fault , his father was a lawyer ..
and status quo is the best missile of advocates..
i wonder what havoc he might have created while practising at allahabad ..

Government should conduct state wide poll on if telangan should be seperated from rest of the Andhra or not. Majority wins the case. All political parties and other social groups can campaign on the pros and cons of seperate Telangana. Let people know both quantitatively and qualitatively of the benefits, advantages, losses and dnagers of a seperate state or combined state. Let people talk about how the progress will be effected if or if not a separate state. After the poll results everyone should abide by the majority. |

After allowing pensions and salaried status to the electing members by amendment in our constitution, now the politics has become a solid career opportunity in our firm believing democracy system. Therefore, I opine that the separatists must come out with an commitment policy before the people of India because the separate state formation has not been a successful step in case of Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh & Jharkhand. We must also understand the geographical status and connectivity of both the states if both the separate state will have equitable opportunity towards development in the interest of common people. I think, whatever separation you will opt for, but without the help of your neighbourhood you will never be able to grow up in any case...... |
