As C K Prahlad in his pathbreaking book " Fortune at the bottom of the pyramid " reminds us that Indian consumers at the bottom of pyramid looks for value even at the low prices. Brands which focused only on low prices and produced junk products always have failed in the Indian market. So I will say they should focus on quality & should position it has "value for money" product which does big things with small price tag.... Tagline: Bade kaam, kum daam !!! |

The Maruti 800 has set the trend before which retails at about $4,500. But, the Nano prototypes are around 20 per cent more spacious inside, offering an extra selling point beyond price for families, so i feel it should also give an image of think big with small.... Think big with small..... |

As everyone knows that Tata Motors have launched Nano. I have created a debate on:Tata Nano: Would you like to buy one?
What you guys think whether Tata Nano will it be an embarrassment of a car? Is it worth two 100cc bikes? Whether it can beat 800? Will it cause congestion and choke us all to death? Let us discuss it out there......
Please participate !!! It will be interesting to see how many people will be really going for it.....
|
|
My take: They should definitely position it has a dream come true for middle class & low income groups. They should show how nano would change the way family mobility is seen in India & entire families, sometimes four people who ride on a bike
together are now going to own one where
people can afford a car and spend time together... Tagline: Sapne Sajaoo Nano Ke Sung... (fulfill your dreams with nano) |

TATA should focus the campaigns on the youth, cause the elder age groups would prefer luxury which is not there in this car. But youth would consider the economics and the utility and above all styling. Which very well is present!!! |

The New age car needs a new age marketing strategy. And what a better way than the web based domains. It is fast, has a wide reach and is cost effective. The direct impact of any immediate sales pitch should target the audience that's most likely to buy in the near term.

As NANO is for masses, while Promoting NANO we should focus not only on Price but aslo on quality aspects and Acceptibiliby of masses. We Should Communicate In sach a manner that all Economic classes in society Should feel that ,'NANO is for me". We should Build a Brand which is for Masses then Every One will Say that " Ab NANO Ko NA Kaun Kahega? So I made Tag Line As ' Ab NANO ko NA Kaun Kahega'?

Definitely Kiran a very nice Tagline that TATA can use to promote NANO.Surely they should make people realize that this is the car that has been built just for the people, for every segment of society and if they can do that then this car will certainly break all sales records.
|
|
Tata Motor's should give all the participants in this Idea a Nano as a gift. and see the sales shoot up. well we are very few here, so Tata Motors hurry up !!!! |

The Nano car is not for those who are driving everyady more than 100 Kms on the highways. This is car basically for the city driving and will be very suitable for a Housewife, Working Girls, Working Women, low income group who have got the dream of having car. This segment of the population should be focused and advertisement should be made in a such a way that it apeals to this group. Only one type of advertisement will not work. For example: For house wife, the advertisement shoiuld be different than that of young working Girls and a dirfferent advertisement for low income group population. Henec there has to more than 3 or 4 advetisement running at a time. |

Tata's NANO car with least price gives more comfort with middle-class people,in buying such car.It gives good platform for economic buyers.Sellers should concentrate and indicate the special or major point, which assembles to buy such a economical car,to overcome the two-wheelers market.

Many of us agree that Nano is an economy car for mass. The biggest buyer segment would be people wanting a cheap mode of transport for which they today use the commuter bike. Nano would help them upgrade to a more comfortable and safer mode of transport with little more investment. I guess TATA should have some communication plan to hit this target group. I guess 'handle bhoolein, steering pakdein' tagline can be used in their communication to this TG. |

I'm thinking up the tagline, but the body of the copy or the music accompanying the visual should be something like this...."Babu samajho ishaare, horn pukare pom-pom, yahan chalti ko gaadi kahte hain pyare...pom-pom"...etc.
Guess I'm a die-hard kishore kr fan. |

There are currently around 60 million scooters in India, and a lot of those people dream of owning a car. The Suzuki Maruti 800 was the first step of democratizing car ownership in India and now the Tata Nano will be next. My Tagline: Har Sapne ab apne !!! |

The tata nano seems to have received quite a response even before its not only because its a relatively cheaper car but also bcuz they did their share of marketing properly. I believe the next step should be providing better services at their service stations and bringing new technologies like gps in their cars. |

Here i m not talking about marketing strategy to sell NANO...i have a suggession, that govt. should replace all autos with NANO. This would be good as standard as well as, non driving sence of autos and their drivers.

With the tag of a lower priced car, it should also focus on the prestige aspect, intelligence & emotional appeal. The advertising should focus on aspects like smartness, convenience, maneuverability and fuel efficiency....
