Nice to see students in this platform & the questions they are asking is similar to those which I had doubts when I was at their age. Anyways, I would suggest that each individual should do his home wok before going to any interview. If you are applying for your dream job, a little sleuthing can go a long way. In fact, research relentlessly. |

There are many things that can be said and done to help succeed in an interview, no matter what the interview is for. For many, trying to succeed in a job interview can make you nervous. It’s good and wise to adopt some best practices and exercise them on a regular basis to help a person succeed in an interview. Even if it’s an interview for a job, being on TV, talking to reporters, interviewing for a radio show etc, etc…
Preparation is always key and highly imperative for an interview. A person should always plan ahead and keep up with tips on how to succeed in any interview. Just like exercising to help keep your body fit, a person should exercise their interviewing skills so they can be on top of their game. That’s where strategic planning could come into play. You always need a strategy and plan for the many things that you want to pursue in life and business. Some things a person should consider & needs to be aware of , adjust, make improvements on and exercise would be their interviewing skills, appearance and body language.
Dress for success. Being well groomed, dressed professionally and how you carry yourself can make a big impact on a first impression. Many times a first impression says a lot. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. So make the first impression count. Knowledge is power, so educate yourself and strategically plan ahead. A person should if possible, educate themselves on the company & position that they are interviewing for . If you can, educate yourself on who will be interviewing you.
Review and rehearse a speech if needed so you‘ll be ready to talk about your past experiences and how you can move forward. Review you resume. Ask someone, such as a friend or family member to help you with role playing to help you calm your nerves and prepare for the interview. Get someone to help you with a few pretend interview questions. Feel confident by being prepared. Become prepared by trying to anticipate interview questions based on the knowledge and core competencies (skills and abilities) commonly required for success in the job that you’re applying for.
Be positive and have faith . Let the interviewer know how you can bring value to the company. Be ready to discuss things in-depth, try to not to get caught off guard. There are many things that a person can do to succeed in an interview. So preparation is always key and highly imperative. Get prepared, stay prepared & strategically plan ahead.

know your strengths and converse with self-confidence taking initiative in the discussion listening well to the questions asked and in the context of the role and the nature of business and the organisational culture. treat the interview as a mutually exploratory exerice to seek a mutual fit - do your best without arroangance while exhibiting your set of competencies for the job presented fairly and frankly without any dishonesty; leave the judgement to the selectors, while not getting selected need not be your fault all the time - the organisation could have it's own priorities , reaons and strategy for the selection. may be you are suitable for some other organisation at some other point of time.

An interview is important, you have to be prepared, with clear intention and goals. Any case, it's only an interview: succeeding or not, is nothing about you as a person or a professional. Too many variables are at stake, you can control only few. Make your homework, be quite, hope for the best, live the possible defeat no more than an opportunity for lesson learning (if any). |

Always remember that an impression of you, based on your resume and job application, has already been formed in the mind of the interviewer even before you walk in for the interview. So, getting your job application right is the first step. Be meticulous at this stage. |

an interview is a conversation to explore the mutual fit of competencies. put your best foot forward responding amiably and spontaneously to the queries made listening well without any air of arrogance while being humble and honest about things. check for your needs of information and clarity too without being shy about. having presented yourself the best leave the decision to the selectors - could have their own strategy, priorities, salary parameters etc suiting their need at the given point of time. may be you are suitable elsewhere at some other point of time. try to learn from the interview each time as an valued experience about organisations, cultures, styles, information, etc

How you “fit” within the organization goes beyond your experience and training. Fit includes your personality, communications skills and style, and even your personal appearance. The interview provides an opportunity for the interviewer to not only check out your qualifications, but to see if you can connect with others and demonstrate good human relations skills |
