The development of sound MIS is the result of the development and enforcement of a culture of system ownership. An "owner" is a system user who knows current customer and constituent needs and also has budget authority to fund new projects. Building "ownership" promotes pride in institution processes and helps ensure accountability. |

MIS in any organisation will fail if there is no transperency.employee and employer should be in a position to believe each other.once this is established all other elements will certainly be effective.one has to study the base of any organisation to study the degree of effective MIS. also, the information flow should in both ways as possible i.e.both vertical and horizontal.communication media should be same through entire system with permissable deviations. |

The last but definitely not the least attribute.... "Relevance" is the most important aspect if the system has to be usable. Coz relevance has to do with the purpose of the system,... in other words the 'use'. So if this aspect is in place, and handled well, the MIS system gets a focus or direction. This aspect of relevance can be achieved by training each member of the MIS team with regards to all the aspects of the organization... so that they will be in a position to make a positive impact on the organization. |
