I do agree. One must have the energy and wil to gon and make the changes that are necessary in policy. Action is necessary but "hearing", observing the market and learn the lesson are "incontournables" compulsory.

Agree with all the points of Mr.Mallaya.Moreover an entrepreneur should have an inner drive to succeed.Entrepreneurs are driven to succeed and expand their business. They see the bigger picture and are often very ambitious. Entrepreneurs set massive goals for themselves and stay committed to achieving them regardless of the obstacles that get in the way. Also all entrepreneurs always search for new ideas and innovation. They have a passionate desire to do things better and to improve their products or service. They are constantly looking for ways to improve. They're creative, innovative and resourceful.

Clear Vision

idea posted by Amit Madhav Senior Consultant, GKC
In my opinion starting your own business can be a very fascinating and frustrating times.  There’s so much to do and learn, that many entrepreneurs feel overwhelmed and lost. For any business to succeed, one need to set goals and accomplish them.  Without clearly defined goals, business will flounder. So with clear vision & prioritizing goals will help to maximize business’s growth.

I fully agree with these gentlemen. Only those with a clear and focussed vision will succeed in life. Shen you have a target in mind and is committed to it, you will enjoy working to wards the success to it. But unfortunately lot of people have a vision but not a committment and passion to achieve those. "Vision without committment is Daydreaming.."

I agree to you MR.Gundupagi that one needs to understand how business is done before planning to start own business. One needs to work under someone else to gain knowledge, skills and experience to take right decesion when need.

Simply defined revenue model

idea posted by Atanu Mukerji Operations Manager, Cadence Design Systems India Pvt.

Any entrepreneur is a very focused and driven personality. He is normally a person who intends  to establish himself in the field of business, has a clear vision and definitely some great ideas. But sometimes this vision is more at the esoteric level. The need to strike the right balance between vision and basic business sense - read horse sense; defines the difference between a successful and failed business man.

Sometimes we get too much clogged in obscure MBA jargon & complicated business models while the best thing to practice can be common sense. Best example- Warren Buffet.

Keep building network

idea posted by Jitena Kumar Rawat Senior Consultant, GKC
Businesses always need assistance, and the person you met in a various meeting can help you secure funding, or the gentleman at a conference can provide you with management advise. It is important to form alliances with people who can help you, and whom you can help in return. To succeed in business, you need to possess good networking skills and always be alert to opportunities to expand your contacts.

Continuous Improvement

idea posted by Sudeep Tarafdar Senior Consultant, IBM
Everyone one has weaknesses but I feel one should overcome those weakness and should strife for continuous improvement. Knowing that you have specific weakness which slows down your progress in achieving your goals, one should work on them. Train yourself. Start fixing that issue so that you don't have that barrier in the future and move ahead. This process is repetitive and does wonders in problem solving.

Has personal charisma to gather people with different backgrounds, skills, and characters.

idea posted by sherwin Sales Executive/Investment Advisor, Pingyang Dayu Plastic Machinery Co. Ltd.

As a successfull entrepreneur, the most important point is having his/her personal charisma to gather people with different backgrounds, skills, and characters, make them work hard together for the same goal.  Some entrepreneurs have technical background, some have finance background and some have sales experience, but the personal charisma or ability to agglomerate different people together is the most important in my point.

Second point is haveing ability to know different people with different skills, and use them properly. An entrepreneur does not have to do everything himself/herself, but he/she must know who is the best person to finish a certain job. this point is also considered as having a good team.

Third point is that he/her has a good understanding about the field which he/she is working in. He/she has a deep understanding about the market, and has a good knowledge about its future.

etc
