Baseline Policy

idea posted by Sujit Nimje Project Lead, HP
It is recommended setting up a “baseline” policy that defines just what your organization considers to be spam, and to block, rather than quarantine, those messages. “Depending on the nature of your business, you may find it useful to include other material in this category, such as newsletters, political campaigns, and product marketing messages,” according to the report.

New Techniques

idea posted by Rahul Shami Project Lead, GlobalLogic
Technologies that work best for anti-spam includes “connection management techniques,” or the first layer of filtering that doesn’t require looking at the content of the spam itself. This includes blacklisting, whitelisting, sender reputation, rate controls, and recipient verification

Anti Spam Products

idea posted by Bala Santhosh PM, Infosys

Experts suggest deploying anti-spam products that include user-specific quarantines so that users can manage their messages. Limiting bounced-message notifications also helps prevent spammers from abusing them for more targeted attacks.

Check and recheck

idea posted by Alok Kapoor Project Lead, Satyam Computer Services Ltd

My suggestion will be a very simplistic one. Be cautious while you are entertaining any of the mails present in your inbox. Spams are nothing but  flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it. So on the first hand check and recheck whether it's from a reliable source and then proceed ahead with your activities. Ban spam mails.
