Dear Abhik first of all settle the in house procedures.must take good ppl who can walk along u to deliever.see wat the market wants and then give the product..of course keeping current market conditions..See the target cutomers..who rthey and their budget.keep good ppl for managing..Construction is not a big deal.main thing is the peripheral things which delay the project.like land acquisition.licencing ,dealing with govt deptt and so on..in house other procedure can be settled with the help of software available and can be monitored day 2 day.Main imp thing if u promise then must deliever in time and best quality |

Before you start find some Sub-contractors & let them do the jobs for ur company name.. Do it for 5 - 8 months to set up the financial..
Before starting of ur construction company, firstly, u should be fully comfortable with the finance, atleast u should have the enough finance to go for min 3 or 4 months without expecting return, then u should go for availability of labours and man power for that corresponding job. u should be confident and more dynamic temperament person. If all the above gets satisfied then u can go darely to start the company.
Before statrting a construction company it is essential what discipline you are going to select.Viz. Civil or Mechanical or Electrical or Instrumentation based on that you have to get the man power required considering the size of Project you are anticipating to take. At the first, nobody will give you a job directly to execute. Mostly you have to make a humble beginging by starting as sub contractor of estabilshed companies. You have to plan and arrange funds and material to execute the project. Here also nobody will fund you untill and unless you have a proven track record as a company. So it is essential that you should have the capacity to arrange some amount on your own. If you want to open the company with Partners then it is necessary that job and responsibilities of all the partner is well defined. Once you have made the company then the sooner you develop the prodcedure for execution of works it is better and all your employees should religiously follow that. Other wise in most companies they make a good start but soon land into problem due to lack of Systems and Procedures. Specially in the case of fund and works management. It is not possible to go in minute details here so I am giving the broad outlines only.

Abhik you better take pictures of every job you do, from start to finish. You can quickly build an impressive portfolio in both hard copy and digital form (think email and website use). Photos illustrate your work quality and are valuable communication tools to explain your construction methods to clients. To become more visible to potential clients, work first at tightly identifying your target markets, then determining the tactics that can best introduce your company and services to them.

No matter what tactics you choose, be consistent, and realize that this work is a process, not an event. Results come from long-term, consistent, continual efforts versus random, one-time shots.
Pragya you were talking about tactics its really important in any business, You just want to choose tactics designed to meet your objectives. A good public relations program can help with awareness and reputation goals, but don’t expect it to bring in short-term leads in and of itself. Advertising may help bring in some short-term leads, but remember that there’s a reason we see the same ads on TV and hear the same ones over and over again on the radio. Repetition works in communicating a message and in building a name and it’s frequently costly.

I think business plan must be detailed with specifics about what i expect from construction company to do and how to go about getting it done. A good business plan can be tweaked along the way for improved success and i must consult an attorney or accountant to determine type of company i need and Cover myself for liability.

go deep into roots of construction 1st only then u can know the problems in the field. In the begining be ready to dedicate all ur day towards ur goal. get ideas of colleagues or friends who can support u with ideas. Most importantly face the problem yourself, upturn it go forward.
