I think promotion is the best way of being able to find customers, You start out by writing search engine optimized ads for your business and have them listed on as many search engines as you can afford to. Next, you will need to get a mailing list of both email addresses and physical addresses so that you can not only use email, but a physical postcard to announce your business that is on the internet. When you are finished with that, then your web site will have some promotional features that will help you promote your web site and attract business.

There a lot of ways to achieve this objective: Offer a free video, audio or report in exchange for the customers name and email (go to www.101recessionbustingtips.com as an example). Follow up the prospect with an email campaign (don't use an excess of promo messages though) Write articles and submit to article directories such as Ezinearticles.com Use a good bio with a link to your website Get targeted traffic using Adwords Put up a video on YouTube with a link to your website Use social media marketing (Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr) to promote your business. These should be good enough to start with
