Internet has become a necessary tool for day-to-day business activities and other communication. Also, blogs, social networking sites and other media tools have become the necessary part of today’s business. However, as per the latest data, after every 4.5 seconds one new infected web page has been discovered, which sidelines the term trusted website to users. Thus, companies have to deal various financial and security risks from such breaches.

Use WebSense for filtration..

idea posted by Satwinder Singh Program Manager, Confidential

Websense will allow you to do content based filteration for different levels of employees.

Tracking and auditing can give you latest updates on no. of new hits which helps you to block social networking sites, etc. as per your policy requirements. Continous check is required..

Content-based filtering

It checks all the web traffic and will decide the true file-type of content. After that, as per the company’s policy, we can allow or disallow this traffic. For example, using only business-type content, organizations can reduce the risk of infection through windows. I believe this will be the best way to enable internet safety in organisations

Real-time predictive malware filtering

Here, all the internet traffic has to pass through a scanner designed to recognize new malwares. In the approach, all the web traffic is checked through a combination of signatures and behavior based technologies. It also follows bi-directional scanning, where both the user request to, and the information returning from are scanned.

Organizations are already proactive for the safety stds..using different techniques and they are extremely successful.
They can use smartstats;block certain IPs;can use robust firewalls;scanners;anti spammers........

This rat and cat game is always there. What we need is the internet in totality using the whole
safety stds for the public in general.Recently read an interview of Senior Executive
covering the entire asian region ibn his profile suggesting that all those social sites alluring the
visitors to post their details is quite risky because it is they who have to maintain stds.
This data is quite sensitive and the responsibility lies here more because it relates
to innocent lives. In general all the data should be mirrored and can be centralized..and
safeguarded apart from the data stored and owned by respective sites.

Overall technology should be assisted by certain International stds confirming the
sanctity of usage of internet as per users request.
Visitor can ask for any service and we can make sure that user should not face frauds/phishing etc...
