Addressing the rural microfinance and rural employment issues

idea posted by Kaushik Ghosh Senior IT Officer, Minstry of Defence, Govt. of India
Rural India is resourceful. What we need is proper distribution of resources. To meet the basic need of the mass microfinance institutions need to provide safe, flexible savings services and cheap credit schemes to the poor mass. Grameen Bank system cannot reach very far down to poverty. So some nonprofit organizations need to initiate and deploy. NREGA is a good initiative to eradicate unemployment in rural India. But govt. need to ensure that it is going to be a future mandate of work for the BPL cardholders. Local self government should be given full discretion and jurisdiction to recruit on contract basis and promote job opportunity and employment benefits.

Development has to reach rural India!

It happens only in our country that the rich become richer and poor become poorer. The need is for economic development of rural India - covering education for all, health, employment opportunities, connectivity of villages to towns and big cities etc. It may help in reducing poverty.

Providing Education to poor people

idea posted by Manik Sood Manager - Industrial Engg. & Projects, Hero Cycles Limited

Education makes a person able to think rationally and become self dependent. The recently introduced Right to Education Act guaranteeing free and compulsory school education to all children under Sarv Siksha Abhiyan is a good move by government.

The recently introduced Right to Education Act guaranteeing free and
compulsory school education to all children comes under the SSA.

There is a chinese proveb "Give him a fish, his hunger is satisfied. Teach him how to catch fish, he will not face hunger again" Compulsory and Free Education upto +2 level (atleast) is the only way out.

Actually a am not agree with both of points because Compulsary and almost free education provided by the government in each government school at villege. and provide education to poor people is not the solution because there basic needs are fooding lodgings and sheltering, so first they people need some professional kind of education by that they can satisfy there basic needs and then they can automatically focaus on other things as well.

Basic needs can be satisfied by education when after getting education, they will become employable. So starting point is the education only.

Development has to reach Rural India

idea posted by Srinivas suravajhala Asst. Manager.
70% of Indian population living in Rural India. They are engaged in Agriculture and in allied sectors. Disguised unemployment is rampant in Agriculture sector. Successive Govts. at the centre is failing to stimulate the agriculture sector. Agriculture and usage of technology in agriculture has to be encouraged. Irrigation facilities have to be improved. Market facilities, storage facilities are required to be provided. Instead of making the farmer to look at the Govt. for support price, allow the farmer to market his produce at profit. Technology has to be taken to the villages. Villages have to be made manufacturing hubs. A political will is required to do this. Instead of searching for catchy slogans, Govts. should really focus their attention towards these measures. Poverty will definitely be answered automatically

It's not a case to support Mr. Hazare. All are supporting are the cause, not the person. We need to differentiate the two things.
