Get Prepared Before

idea posted by Kriti Das HR Manager, ANZ Information Technology

One should always ancipate the uncertainity & get prepared for the worse. He /She should plan accordingly what could be done if one day suddenly they lose their job.

So, according to me every individual should plan for the worst case scenario to face the sudden job loss with courage.

As  discussed unnecssary expenses could be cut short. But for the necessary expenses, it is always better to develop core profession along with the main so that in unexpected situations, the alternate will help us to lead life without panic.

Today's human life is uncertain for anything it matters. We have to be courageous enough to face these uncertainty. If economy is uncertain then we have to be much carefull about our job & future. First of all we should save enough money for future uncertainty & lead a simple life. every one wants to lead hi fi life as every one is concerned about his prestige. We spend more on unwanted things beyond our capacity. This is where we fail to realize that we all are from middle class family that is why we are discussing about this topic i believe. Please remember that at the end of the day we need only basic things to lead life. So lets avoid spending on unwanted things. I am not saying that you should not lead hi fi life but make sure that you should not end up putting yourself in trouble.

Yes Kirti you are right. In such cases the individual concerned actually pre determine his fate in a sense that some sign will come from the superiors unless the the entire company is geting closed.

One should not only be ready but devlop multiple skills in order to switch job profile with other company.

Improve one's skills

When you are out of a job , make full use of the free time you have been forced into , to do all those things which you had been promising you would do , for which you did not have the time earlier.

Attend training courses on your own money , so that you can prepare yourself for the future.

Network with all your friends , colleagues , business contacts , so that any new opportunity can be seized on. Most times , such opportunities are lost because you never come to hear of them !

Yes its a very hard call to get sacked from job. But quality, experience and talents never scared of such things. One must improve and upgrades its quality such that, if sacked also, job will come to absorb talent...

If one is fired, he should immediately go on an introspection mode to assess the weakness to cover it up!  One will get a better insight about the gray areas when one stands outside.  Though its a tough call, after all, we all know pleasure and pain undergoes cyclic change and one should be prepared for any and every eventuality in life.

Many top achievers have attained the status only when they faced the unfortunate incidents in the professional life.  We all know the famous idioms and phrases "stitch in time saves nine" and "make hay while the sun shines", "prevention is better than cure", etc.  Develop extraordinary savings habit to face any calamity in future.

If you have talent and good network, nothing can make you break from your carrier path. Opportunities will come to you immediately if you believe in your abilities. Same time you need to adorn your talent by learning new things related to your carrier.

Job loss could be because of several reasons, assuming it is not because of any Integrity issue but due to right / down sizing or cost correction; just evaluate your options, start networking with peers and previous colleagues, ensure that you do not apply for a job just for the sake of getting it. Also, you could utilize the time in upskilling yourselves and waiting for the right opportunity. Most importantly do not lose faith and hope. Family is the most important motivator, be close to them and spend most of the time with them :-)

Dig the pond long before you thirst.  If we plan for multiple source of income, we need not worry about unexpected job loss.  Job is only a temporary solution for our permanent problem.  Earning 100 from one source is more risk than earning 100 from 10 sources.

So long as one is employable, one need not worry about this untoward happening. Be prepared for any eventuality, introspect and provide right direction to your own thinking.
