Light & Bright Colour White Washing of Walls & Roof would reflect more light thus brighten the room sufficiently with less number of light fittings compared to the rooms white washed with dark colors where more light gets absorbed and one has to increase the number of light fittings. This is one way of Energy Management.

This is basic method which all of us can do to keep a track of the energy consumption at our homes. This simple method can help us cutting oue our monthly bills & other related expenses. Further this avoids excess usage of electricity & helps in saving power. |

One of the ways to conserve energy is to take readings of everyday /weekly consumption and check if there is any abnormal pattern. By this way you may be able to find why there was more energy consumption. Then you can form a plan to conserve the energy while you use itself.

Is LP Gas and kerosine included as energy ? We require to adopt some measures which are easy and common : -- switch off lights / fans and ACs when not required -- use machines which are 'energy efficient' - use 4/5 stars machines. These days BES is marking Refrigerators, Washing Machines, ACs with " red stars " meaning most ' 5 star ' is most energy efficient. -- try to open gates of Refrigerators as less as possible. -- AC Machine : keep clean. Look that sun-shine does not keep ur rooms heated - this may escalate the electricity needs. -- in the kitchen, keep watch on use of L.P. Gas. There are several methods to conseve use of gas. Follow those. ----------------- The poor house holds are best energy efficient. They have no electricity - no gas. Such house-holds are many in our country. If the poor are let to develop a further, more energy will be required in India. Dont know how this will be managed - "load-sheddings" are most common in towns and cities these days.

My greatest teacher was my father ... and in future will be my kid.
So physiologically the present matured generation (who has the best potential to change things) gets influenced by there kids.
Thus the schools are the key source to start this nuclear reaction. Convince and motivate one teacher to really feel, live and explore ways of living with lesser energy consumption and lower carbon foot prints, and this gets propagated to at least a 100 students per year and those 100 influence at least 200 adults and the chain flows.
Its very tragic that we don't yet fully realize that
"EVERY REFORM STARTS FROM JUNIOR SCHOOL"
To make things better the roots have to be treated well.
Its easier than it looks. But its tougher to conceptualize.
Nature has easy solutions to all problems. We have to be better explorers.
Like a maths problem of high-school when the problem goes tougher to solve, re-visit it from the beginning. Its simply a simple mistake.
Things are easier then can be imagined, approach is all that makes the difference.

Lot of technologies are cominup in US/EU to utilise resources during peak/non peak hours, reduce losses, efficently meter and cap.Smart grids are to happen in India and Policy should lead us which to an extent is being imposed by Lending institutions not by our Polity.

As regulators around the globe are grappling to define or redefine policies and programs around launch of Advanced Metering, utilities continue to struggle to meet these growing demands. We have analyzed many such situations and believe that the regulatory requirements can be handled lot more effectively if utility companies are ready to view this initiative with a new perspective.
Based on our experience in helping utility companies define AMI business case and deployment roadmaps, AMI implementation can introduce substantial changes to the utility organization. It does not just involve a realignment of business processes and systems to support changes. It involves an entire cultural modification and requires definition of entirely new set of business procedures and practices. The changes are substantial, and long-term planning to enable such changes becomes crucial.
However, necessity to make such changes also opens up doors to a whole new world of business and innovative opportunities. In this article, we will try to uncover and emphasize the need to apply changes with this 'opportunistic' perspective, so that you, as a utility company, can reap the most benefit from your AMI deployment and pass on these benefits to your customers. We call this a motivational strategy to 'win in the turns', rather than 'win in a straightway'.
AMI and MDM systems can be employed to achieve huge business benefits in addition to acting as mechanisms to cut costs. We would like to share certain thoughts to help utilities plan for an Advanced Metering implementation that looks beyond the traditional business case.
Utilities need to develop greater capabilities to achieve agility, scalability and innovativeness to excel in a challenging future world, and AMI can be leveraged as the right tool to move ahead towards such goals

Switching off lights when not in use is good to preach and difficult to practice. Many of us would be witnessing running fans and burning lamps in empty rooms of our homes. Use sensors to automate switching on/off to save energy
