For many it may look odd, but believe me it works. If you remember all the names of your colleagues & call them by their names they fell happy about it & love to interact with you. Thus this helps in building a strong bonding b/w you & all the employees. |

Priyanka, You are absolutely right! By calling your colleages and peers by first name, (I insist, by first name) you can bring them easily to the same platform you are placed, whatever be your position in the hiearchy of the organisation; this ensures a comforting environment around the two of you and thereby ensures that the messege will be received well and will be heeded of followed up with high level of willingness and sincerity.

To have a healthy relationship with our colleagues we need to definitely appreciate small things that we observe in them are unique than ohers and support them for the work they are doing. It is not always necessary to appreciate what they are doing sometime pointing out what should not be done by them also helps to develop a healty relation with them. it will definitely build a confidence in your cooleagues mind and a postive attitude towards you.
add value to them and also interact with them but dont interfere with their work

Thanks for the referral Ms Priyanka Small talks like asking about their car ,or how they came to the work place, or any other minute thing makes people happy, like complementing on the dress. It gives out a feeling of being noticed, and belonging. |

I am in agreement with you Dr. Ali. Such gestures takes a long way in feeling important and may br in addition hows everybody at home. While some body is proceeding on annual leave say have a nice trip etc.
These small talks does not appear important but create a feeling of belonging hence the actual output goes up.

Its very hard now a days to find time to talk to one another...its becoming a closed capsule...As an HR would like to have a team building games where in we invite all the employees have a break from their regular work flow and start knowing one another.. By this the gap between the employees will decrease and then there is a smooth relationship which helps for better productivity...

Listen to them and half the ideas run smoothly. everyone loves o be heard, appreciated. and not just the words .. but the silence in between too. causes silence might be loader than words too. its a basic level of understanding. give spaces when one needs it, hover round whn one is inviting....if u want a healthy relationship .. u got to do the Work!! |

It works in administration. Always. Yes, conflicts happen, some people get offended, they get nice eventually, and after some time everyone involved gets respected by everyone else. When that feeling goes away, just spark a small conflict ... Sounds stupid, but I've seen it work. It is like a controlled forest fire - if applied properly it prevents much bigger fires to start later on. |

Its true that you have to spend 8-10 hours a day with your colleague, but lets understand that we are doing job to make life simpler and more comfortable to live and grow. Let's keep basics clear, job is for learning and earning, also for some emotional issues, but mixing personal with professional has been and will always be a trouble. let's leave family aspect of life at home as soon as we leave for office(on normal days atleast) , and lets leave the office life in the office(normal days atleast), so that we can uncomplicate and simplify our life.. and be more attentive towards our life's focus.
