I feel this should be done first,,,,then accordingly plan.....that includes: 1. Inventory/R. capital management..after having gripped the right pulse,,, u gotta have all the right fruits in the basket,,which tastes sweet to your customers ,,,,remove the rotten ones,,,,either by inter store transfers or by offers,,,,keep stocks all ready at least 15 days before they are required for a particular event... 2. Human resource: Place right person at the right spot with proper responsibility & accountability. 3. Costs: Like stocks,,,checkout for superfluous expenses. 4. Systems: Develop systems to ensure right customer service & stock & other maintenance,,like timely refiling/shuffles...displays,,,VM,,,sundry maintenance etc. 5. Seasons & offers: In India we have different festivals & seasons like Holi,,,Rakhi Diwali etc,,,,one strategy/offer may not work...plan as per latest fades.... 6. New products: No body wants to see the same merchandise again & again,,specially in apparels etc,,,,keep searching for new exciting products/brands suitable for your target audience... 7. No respite: Each day one or other customer will teach you new things,,,,,so keep improving... And in the end,,,,procure the best material,,,its old saying that one who procures the best,,,,sales 1st.... |

Sure, Understanding customer needs will give the results.
Yes i do agree with mr Rajagopalan, as customer will buy only what he wants, so if you understand what he wants then sele is through. once we know what customer needs, "we can simply put our words in customers languange" i.e. we can sell what we have in the way customer wants.
Hello Sunita, You should understand the customer needs and to announce good promotional scheme to attract the customer. Also it should be very competitive and the quality of the product should be very good. Hope you will agree on this.

I think introduction of E-Commerce technology to retail business is going to bring atleast 5 times the current revenue to the owner. It is only a one time cost - effective investment. All retail business owners should try it out and feel the difference in months. Also fair amount of Social Media Marketing would bring maximum visibility for the business.

I have read the idea given by the greart exp. people, bt one thing i want to tell all of you that all retailchain comp doing the same thing what u all are told, i.e, offers,right candidate,etc.,.i think that now u can try this also:- 1.Get in contact with the customer who have taken your automobiles back 2-3 yrs, then make them feel that u really care for them from the core of the company heart (may be it will be a little expensive) ,invite them in a short party or new product launch or any company function, then provide imformation (formal or informal way) about the new product having advance technology which resist some barrier facing by a customers in the basic condition and also about the exchange of vechiles in place of new one , provide them a hassel free paper transcation within a defined hours (for example your car will be in your home parking place within a span of 48 hours from the time u place the order) like wise.., \ 2.Think what will be your mind set as a customer and your expectation from the company or from the retail chain outlets. 3. Visit your outlets as a ghost customer feel what the problem customer are facing from the time being they place their order and they get the product. 4. vistit your service centre as a ghost customer and see the problem there are many way to increase the sale but one thing we all must remind that like they we are also a customer for another company , so when it will be the right time to place the sales promotion keeping the company right information about the t&c (dont make them hidden). |

We can increase promotional activities, whether the manufacturer has given some discount...at the retailer level increase the promotions and drill down to cross promotion ....say one soap with one body wash...make it some what more logical .....cross promotion can be anything even non related products also....increase sales by increase product size...like..increase detergent powder pack size or store only bigger size...as retailer will get more margin on bigger size than smaller ones.....
