The potential for expanding the use of RETs (Renewable Energy Technologies) for energy generation is vast in India and awaits exploitation. Chemical sources of energy such as hydrogen energy, alternative /biofuels for surface transportation, geothermal energy, and ocean energy should also be explored as an opportunity to harness energy in the long run. Inspite of the slow growth there is a lot of potential in this sector. Indian economy not only is highly import dependent but it also shows high level of geographic concentration in the import of the energy requirements. This calls for diversification of sources of oil imports. |

RET has a great future obviously as traditional hydrocarbon resources shrink. But I am not really sure whether much purpose would be served by diversifying the oil import sources because of the oligopolistic nature of the global energy market.
If we wish to exploit RET sector we need to diversify it, like a person in US can earn a handsome amount by selling his/her emission saved in million tonnes of CO2 by using the RET forms or other energies saving techniques.
The reforms there have provisions that any RET or Energy saving technology which comply the primary need of the emitting less CO2 in tonnes to the atmosphere can be traded sold to institutions which in turn sell it to companies who fell short of Co2 emissions norms imposed on them.
It is very similar to carbon market....
Now since in our countries we wish to Exploit the RET forms of energies, a market (which is already present in commodity market but not on a good level of competency as only private companies can trade) should be formed where one can trade the CO2 tonne emissions to other companies in order to compensate for their emissions via proper structure formations.
Such market formation will invariably help every investors to generate his own power or energy saving activity and harness the RET energy forms and generate income from it.
Now , as the RET energies are expensive in nature and needs to be financed .....one can show the amount of finance generated from it by selling the CO2 tonnes to the institutions and other subsidy like 85 % deprciciation and 10years tax holidays depening upon the type of RET used ....
So, we should form a body where even retail investors with little asset value can generate power for his/her ussage and enjoy the ripe the goverment subsidized norms and also trade the CO2 generate...

in india the energy production is increasing but consumption is more due to the lack of coal linkage toprivate&public power sector, the power produced is sufficient when the states draw their quota instead of cheap, political, weaker section oriented, election promisesd items with subsidy, waival of dues to political industries, legal set up with court cases, tariff different to different sates, the 90% payment by bulk consumers, balance 10% dues not linking with budget allocation to state defaulters of ruling party- congress causes the imbalance, purchase of modernisation, replacement of spares corruption import of coalnot suffient, sanctioned projects are in delay in starting like hinduja in andhrapradesh even though they have taken land, approvals in advance is an example , land disputes, local minace theft of power in coal mines ares, industries like delhi, mumbai, punjab,a.p,drop in rain fall shoretage of water supply to plants, from spardhasaradhi@rediffmail.com |

The employment generation, growth of agriculture, sustainable growth of industriesand IT Sector, provision of drinking water what not everything is depending on Electricity. Any neglect on the part of govt or citizens can lead to socio- economic problems. As such power generation should be given maximum thrust. Planning and execution should be prioritised so that the gap between power demand and power generation is bridged.

I agree that present and future assessment of power requirement and proper planning and execution of power projects could help in maintaing proper balance.

Goverment policies makers have made substantial books for catapulting the energy sector, the policies framed by them are no doubt good but are they implemented. Principal source of problem finance from conventional to nonconventional energy implementation ..... ..i would like you to please goo through this article and see how "one made a difference without reforms acutally helping him, our reforms ...It's the intenational community and private sector entites who knows more about the energy hunch and the certain capital growth and market we can provide to them and certainly help ourselves in fullfilling our energy requirements and safeguarding the enviornment...i had come across this article two months back in rediff.com please find the link www.business.rediff.com/special/2009/dec/09/indias-first-entrepreneur-to-sell-solar-power.htm ... Now with respect to requirement and demand fulfillment... let's talk about Cairn energy they had made huge investment in Rajasthan for oil fields ...a private sector involvement ..why couldn't we find out, besides it being in our soil...the only reason we lack interest and we still do. Every year a target is kept for achieving a MW goal for each state requirement ....have we ever come even near to it. Although some of the state is really rigorous with there goals like Gujarat, besides they being gifted with maxim solar energy.. they have taken substantial steps in implementing solar and other power-plants. Now, since exploration of oil and new coal deposits is a time consuming.why can't we make use of the readily available energy ...yes, as i had said earlier that it's costly on CAPEX involvement and Technology transfer but how come this man mentioned above made it through...the link ... We need to regularize the power industry ourselves and leave our dependence on the state owned generation companies....Many of the companies(any sector) have made special teams to spearhead their energy deficiency, even on the public arena..mutliplexes have started having their own power plants...not emergency gensets ......simple small steps taken by every individual...One doesn't need to have expertise in knowing everthing..basic need and who can fill my demand .... It's like if your need and my need are same....form cluster ...distribute the finance burden..and take help of international communities for it .....would spark the state owned energy firms to really start working... |

the ministry of power has already studied the requirements and acts like " electricity act 2003" are brought into where power is defined as a commodity rather than service . the main problem is that the target fixed are not achieved. the reasons being land aquisition problem, the lathergic motion UMPP allotnents..etc..special care should be taken for decreasing AT&C losses...proper billing |

dont worry world . here is more powerfull energy. and many ideas . all are funny but its real . its save 100% energy. cant want any energy in this system.

Energy is to be conserved by avoiding usage by pompous events ,for example by political parties, religious bodies etc. In new construction, design is to be planned in such a way to get natural lighting rather than to switch on artificial lights. In India, most of govt offices are either British Raj forts or palaces. Its all needs electrical lighting & ventilation all day long. Means that energy consumption is more. So self analysis of our own objects around us yields better results. |

Power theft by some of the industry has to be controlled and monitored. This will helpful in assessing the power consumption and future planning. Distribution & Tansmission losses are high and these are not well maintained. This could be taken up further to balance the power consumption. |

It has more to do with people who use electricity than the govt. The electricity theft is a big issue. If we will try to fine all the people who are involved than half of the mid cap cities and rural area will be affected. This theft is resulting... |
Power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has told that soon half of India will get power private sector. In 2006 the particiaption of private sector was just 6% which has incread to 29% today. The benefits of privatisation are uninterrupted power... |
I can see another price hike in petroleum! Why?? Well isn't that obvious the demand -supply principle? Iran has given notice to India. They will sto oil supply if the dispute over receiving payments from India is not resolved. National Iranian... |
