I think you should never try to impress you boss because once you start impressing your boss your emotions gets in the way which is a disadvantages it will not let you focus on your language and behavior and you tend to go out of control. This will have a great advantage for you boss, he will be controlling you later on...

When you start you conversation, don't start it by showing your BOSS that the salary is the problem. If you show him the salary as a problem then he may ask you "Were you able to support your family with the current salary from past 2 years??" If you get emotional then your BOSS might start making assumptions about your attitude. So its better not to show your salary as a problem , but show him you as a solution to a number of the company’s current and
future challenges. Your BOSS might afford to increase you salary after that...Good Luck

It is always better to make your boss understand your situation withot hurting him and you should not compare any other person in your own organization. Be open minded and support your need for increase in salary and even if he doesn't increse your salary , be positive and work as you worked earlier, defenitely you'll be under his camera and things would change by days.... all the very best.... |

Good negotiation comes with what one keeps in front of the organization i.e., If you can prove that you can be more productive than what the orgzn. expects from you, then you get into that demanding side. By proving this you need to make ur employer feel that losing you might cost them very high at the given circumstances and they should not mind spending more on you(when they can get much out of you) rather than finding the next person whom they dont know what could he be... " Known devils are better than Unknown angels " !! .... thats it .... enjoy the hike!!.... Thank you, Manish N. Cheers!! |

From my experience and that of my friends, there are at least these factors involved:
So, you have to take into consideration all these factors before you approach your boss. Obviously, the best case scenario is that your industry is doing very well, your company is doing very well, your division is doing well, your track record is very good, and your boss is an empathic person who wants to keep you on his team AND wants you happy! All the best! |

No its just not some mismanagement that has happened here, its a total out and out fraud that was happening, and I guess there is hands of high high officials and politicians who are eating away taxpayers money like anything, and it also has to do... |
It should not be the case...not all MBA people are good at everything....and people with enough experience in recruitment field who have done jobs in some start up companies in a less known consultancy firm will indeed have more experience and would... |
