If its CU, then.......
If u lose University marks sheets you will have to get back to the university in person. They will direct you to the relevant section of the university authorised to hold the records. You have to pay some fine and quote your university registration number (this roll. number appears in various other documents like Lib. card, admit card but if you have lost this as well then quote your Degree and passing year and be prepared to spend your whole day there:). The authorities will check your registration number and will then look for the score cards and get u a copy of the same

In addition to being a pre-requisite for filing your tax returns and conducting several financial transactions, it also serves as one of the key identification documents. The process to replace a lost PAN Card, however, is not taxing. NSDL and UTI Technology Services are the two agencies authorised to issue a PAN Card. |

Thanks Ms.Swapna Das for the important message and issue related raised in this forum which will be very useful for all.
Thanks Swapna for raising such an important subject & which will get more & more important in times to come.
I think in future all ther duplicates of lost originals will be available only after investigation. The UID Card will help the cause.

What I have done with my passport pan card driving license is that I scan them and attached them in my email. So whenever I lost my document I easily have my duplicate document handy and I find it useful. Hope this info will make ur life easy |

Also scan some attested Xerox copies with these for authentication.
excelellent ideate Swapna....really good one, people infact struggle getting these things in order when they loose such important documents, and all the ideas given by others is also really great...and Mr. Chintan yours idea is something handful and a smart idea infact storing the photocopy in your email and we can easily get them back with the data available at hand in our email id.

To obtain a duplicate copy of the insurance contract, you need to intimate your insurance agent or the life insurer’s call centre. You will be required to submit an indemnity bond on a stamp paper (the stamp duty will depend on the state you reside in). The same can be either handed over to your agent or couriered to the insurance company. |

Passport is a legal document. If we lost our passport then first of all we have to file F.I.R. in nearest police station. Because it will be used to apply a new passport with old number. Because no fresh number will be allotted by authority to same person with same date of birth. We have to fill a form for issuing new copy of passport with all documents, fees required & photocopy of old passport (if available) with copy of F.I.R. to concern authority. Whereas no police verification required at the second time... |

Hello Swapna, Any document person should preserve it very carefully. In case the document is lost approach the concern authorities and submit necessary application along with their formalities. They will verify your record and issue a Duplicate certificate.

Thanks for the referral Jyoti, Swapna Birth Certificate is another important document, there are many hassles in getting it the first time, because some times the name/address or any other thing has not been properly written and people run from pillar to post to get it done right. In case an important as important as this is lost, the whole procedure of application has to be followed. This can be a tedious work especially if the person is born in one city and has shifted to another. |

The idea has been sought how to obtain duplicate copy of lost original document. In my view to meet with future eventuality, the xerox copies of original should be saved for future records. If this not done, the concerned department may be approached for duplicate copy in case original document is lost, as every thing is digital nowa days. |

Normally a polce compliant (FIR) and an affidavit sworn in the presence of a First Class Magistrate is required for obtaining duplicate certificates from any university. To avoid this cumbersome procedure Universities are giving date of birth certificate as "An exctract of the University Records" In case of Degree Certificates also they give an extract certfying that you passed your degree in such and such a year with th optional subjects chosen (they also state that it is not the practice of the University to give duplicate certificates). For all these things Hall Ticket number and year of passing the examination are a must |

The bank with which the fixed deposit is being maintained has to be informed, preferably in writing, about the loss of the receipts. The letter should explain in detail the circumstances in which the receipts were misplaced. In case of joint depositors, the letter has to be signed by all of them. |

People who do not succeed keep on crying about their failure time and again. But what is the reason behind the failure? Why do people fail. What are the little things which a person should avoid to be successful? Traits of successful people are... |
I have my own plans and 5 yr is quite a long term to be dependent upon employer. |
Yes we can bring in strict laws but people who commit such crimes hardly think of the consequences. |
