I believe digital manufacturing should evolve more & should provide a common backbone that links all of the interrelated aspects of assembly manufacturing. It should manage product and process information more effectively to ensure that all parties across the value chain work together in highly focused teams that operate in a consistent manner. |

I also believe Digital technology may prove an effective tool. Coordination between main assembly line with sub-assembly stations as well as parts supplier points is crucial for optimization of Assembly Line. Digital technology may prove an effective tool to achieve this.

It is really a difficult task, to address properly the change request, which happens so frequently. Digital manufacturing may be a solution, but before that, someone should address properly the scope and enterprise environment thoroughly. It will helps in creating so flexible design or alternate solution/ option which can be accomodated in virtually no time.

Enterprise Resource Planning system must be in place to monitor all the material movement. This will give an idea about bottleneck in the system. Using robotics and automation we can eliminate bottleneck to optimize assembly.

Automation will be applied to establish a ergonomically designed work station with audio-visual indicators to eliminate possibility of human errors. Automation level will be customised to compliment the process requirement. Should not be Automation for the sake of it. Sopply Chain Logistics will ensure total coordination with parts supply points as well as sub-assembly stations to eliminate delays at the lean inventory levels. |
