The best thing you can do is to be thoroughly, and completely prepared on the topic you are giving a speech. Much of the fear comes from wondering if you will make a mistake, or if the audience will know more than you. To overcome this is by knowing your topic deep inside and out.

Prepare well, rehearse well and if the strength of audience make u frighten then look at the faces of distant seated audience, once the confidence start building up then slowly focus on the nearby people. By the time the confidence will be full so the stage fear means............it will be ur next question? Improve ur self in presentation wise practicing body language which is most important, practice in front of mirror. Every next presentation should be improved one. As this topic is not constricted to weather ur speech for corporate level or kids, If u are speaking for kids then. It should be made more interesting, so that they should not get bored.
i will always be prepared with my topic and do well when i practise in front of mirror but when am about to present before the class my hands and legs starts to shiver and i am not able to present a good presentation.... how can i overcome this.....??? pls help me out...
None can feel confident while delivering some speech etc. unless he is confident that he has some knowledge over the subject as overwise everyone knows that the audience will laugh at the presentor if he talks about the family relations if the subject is about the recession in the world. Beyond doubt, mastery over the subject and good prepartions helps one to overcome the stage fear. Again, one needs some practice and experience and everyone feels shaky first time. I advice the peole who wants to be a good speaks to listen and see the speeches of barrack obama, bill clinton, bill gates etc. who excellant speakers as I beleive.

The stage fear will be there initially for the beginners. This can be overcome by practice: 1] one should have first confidence and courage to face the audience. 2] The topic on which one likes to talk should be first prepared well. 3] stand in front of the mirror [think as audience] and start delivering the speech that will reveal his minus points, the style of delivery will change from the observations. Make practice like this and then the practice can be made in other open places where there is no people. 4] This type of practice will give the confidence and courage [ these are all some home works to get rid of the stage fear] 5] Now he will be prepared to face the audience in the stage. Today's popular speakers/ orators might have faced such stage fear in the inception stage and their practices have made them to reach today's position. Natteraja I am in agreement with your point of view on the subject. After all one is going to address the humans and they will not kill him at the most may say good or not not so good. One will become perfect after few presentation and the fear factor gone. Thanks for referral.

I always start my presentation with a joke. Its the best way to start and then go into you speech. By doing this you will be more relaxed because you've laughed together.

All the above ideas are excellent. But one may be best for one and good for another. One can adopt any one he is convenient with and regular practice can give the results.

STAGE FEAR MAY COMES DUE TO FOLLOWING : 1. Due to insufficient exposure: Individual should try to exposure in public as and when it is possible. 2. Due to the overconfidence: Prior exercise is must 3. He can try way of expression in front of a mirror looking himself. 4. By repeating all three items above sufficient time he can remove stage fear completely. |

If You are practicing your speech then only t=you will get the confidence and then only your stage fear will come out. Even the best person will be afraid of speaking in front of any one without having knowledge so he prepare the background of the subject and then getting knowledge of the topic he come out and speak in front of other.

I have seen few people who seems fearful only for 3-5 min of his or her presentation and later on they settle and gets comfortable. If they can try and focus on getting through first 3-5 min, they can overcome their stage fear.

Speaking to large audiences, Mastery in material doesn't matter more than presentation skills as you can't force your audience to listen your theory ( pak- pak)if they don't feel interesting so have your material short but speak with confident that's matter most during public speaking.

In order to conquer the Stage Fear one needs to have Confidence in his own-self. Once you have the right confidence the half the battle is already won. Rest can be taken care by an excellent Research over the Topic and of-course a person's Perspective.

If we speak in public more we can overcome stage fear. Speaking in group more often can also decrease stage fear to a large extent. Expressing your point of view and not supressing it also helps i feel.

Coz When Mind thinks about the fear body respond to that fear and all the things happen that should be in a feared situation. Now the Question is how we can reduce this fear. We can do Two things. 1. Train the Mind Calmly without thoughts 2. Change the body state for First Things Yoga and Pranayam Can be done. So that Mind can Work calmly. It has the scientific reason that Yoga and Pranayam effect on mind but this is beyond the limit of this topic. You can do deep Breathing for few minutes right before going to stage. For second thing do some worm up exercise that the player do before they start playing. this will increase blood flow in the body. Remember when you are angry you are not feared and you can go to any extent. at that time the blood flow in the body is fast. Believe in your own-self and balancing the thought process is the two important factors to overcome the stage fear. The first five minutes on the dais is most important. Once you cope up with the pressure within you can talk fearlessly. To overcome this pressure set your mind calm for the time being. Then your mind settle for the situation to be faced by that time. It is always better to have a mental practice of the subject to be spoken from the dais. Then balance your mind with the speech. Your thought process will always be stead fast. Try to control it and synchronize this with your speech. Ofcourse it is so easy to say in theory. I know the pain of bringing this theory into practice. To overcome this problem I am now into teaching. I am visiting faculty in Osmania University for the Distance Education MBA students.

When you start speaking, look at any one person in the audience and speak only to that one person. Slowly, as you gain confidence, move your gaze around the audience, looking into their eyes.

First of all i think the stage fear should be remove from our mind.this is our first work.Then the class teachers should remove stage fear while conducting like JAM,one minute programs,group activities.If the students are participating continuously they can perform much better coming activities.
