An intrapreneurial climate in the organization.

idea posted by Esha Johar Risk Analyst, Irevna

The initiative for employees’ entrepreneurial activity can be the result of motivation and/or external stimuli of the entrepreneurial organisational culture. Especially since the 1980s theoreticians and practitioners in the field of management developed a strong belief that organisational performance and utilization of human resources in a corporation can be significantly improved through creation of adequate organisational culture.

Good point Esha. In today's economic global climate, survival depends on the blending balance of employees and corporations acting in concert as partners. Empowering employees to take calculated risks, thinking like entrepreneurial business owners develops a win-win-win environment for intrapreneur success. This way the company wins, clients win and employees win.

Management support for idea generation

Giving the freedom to develop new ideas within a company is no guarantee for intrapreneurial behaviour since employees also need to be encouraged. A crucial element in the development of an organisational culture is the role of mangers. Top-level managers’ words and actions can significantly influence this culture.

As top-level managers articulate and act upon an entrepreneurial strategic vision, it will likely encourage the formation of cultural norms favouring entrepreneurship. These norms may, in turn, reinforce employees to become intrap- reneurs. Top-level, middle-level and first-line managers play a critical role in the development of innovative behaviour on the work floor.

No we are not.. not right now. We are still in recovery stage and this time I do not think the same mistake will be repeated. Having tough time is one thing and going back to recession is totally different, we cannot mix them.
