Government should increase the quality and efficiency of public transport. Public transport being cheaper more people will be tempted to use it, provided the services sre good. |

In my opinion if proper discipline is maintained without any corruption. Also there should be division of types of vehicles as per roads.Timing of cargo carrying vehicle should be avoided during office time. These are main parameter along with other topics too. |

One should really lay emphasis on car pooling mainly as many of them just travel to their work in their car alone, why not carpool with several people and reduce the number of vehicles on the road, and the carpooling can be rotated with each week, by this way one will reduce the fuel consumption, and also there will be less congestion on roads with huge traffic pile up, and same in the case of bikes, there are so many bikes registering on a daily basis, where is the space for all these vehicles, and in similar to car pooling bike pooling should also be initiated..which will help traffic congestion. I saw an Ad in Bangalore driving this Car pooling campaign for work, and i think this is a very good initiative and all other cities should also follow the same....which will help in less global warming and less fuel consumption and reduces cost of budget that one was spending before... |

I think its a great idea and only this is the idea can reduce the traffic

Government can impose restrictions on the number of vehicles per family, depending on family size. |

Proper town planning is all that India still lacks . There is nothing planned like Chandigarh anywhere else. Investments in setting up new industries, SEZ s,. etc never happens equally to all states. Either everything is dumped at one place or they never happen. There are tier 2 and tier 3 cities where the government can still plan the infrastructure development in a systematic manner . Govt can start giving tenders for Metro rail at places which are attracting investments . It hardly takes 7-10 years to construct Metros . Why not they start it through PPP mode. Just imagine if new dehi did not have metro by now ,how would have been the situation there. Anyways its all with the govt hands. |

India needs public transit. Given our high density of population, reduced land availablity and a rich heritage to be preserved, we have no other option but to make public transit the backbone of our transit systems in the cities. Recently I had taken part in an international architecture competition competition for a city of the future. I was one among the finalists. Here's the link to an article that I've written based on that project titled "A vision for Trivandrum 2035 AD"http://trivandrumlife.com/a-vision-for-trivandrum-2035-ad/ In that article I've described in detail basically three concepts - a different type of metro system; an intelligent, flexible, on-demand shared transit system and a system of intelligent roadways - or computer controlled traffic systems. I invite you all to read that article in detail. |

Can sense the frustration which everyone shares about the manic congestion on our roads. We at Indimoto.com are doing out bit and enabling commuters to find carpool partners across India as a part of our green initiative. We are also partnering with large organisation for a 'Corporate Carpool Programme' which is a CSR activity for them and a win-win situation for all. Do visit us at www.indimoto.com to know more about our carpool initiative. |

Provide rapid public transport with nice frequency to avoid rush and ease of travelling .Except this if appropriate services are provided than to avoid private vechiles increase taxes on private vechile to discourage the private vechile. |

With latest technologies, companies are coming up with low cost vehicles. India has the maximum population of middle class who can now afford a wide range of vehicles. This has lead to traffic congestion as well as pollution. How do we address... |
Maruti 800 still being the affordable car(people's car) as it is price lower than any other car ( since TATA NANO is not yet out, otherwise that would have been ). I go for MAruti 800 |
