My friend Jayant had created a good idea contest, but I would like to be a bit specific & concentrate on how to choose your co-branding partner??

Co-branding is a pairing of two or more branded products to form either a separate and unique product or brand; the use of distinct brands in combination with market-related products for complementary use, such as between a fast food chain and a toy company; or even physical product integration, such as a brand-name toothpaste combined with a brand-name mouthwash.

A co-branding strategy can be a means to gain more marketplace exposure, fend off the threat of private label brands and share expensive promotion costs with a partner. In a co-branding relationship, both brands should have an obvious and natural relationship that has potential to be commercially beneficial to both parties.

So, how to go for a proper brand partner??

Meena,

The arithmetic here is very simple. Its what your brand demands in terms of co existence!! How would they complement each other and yet maintain their OWN brand identity. The successes of each should rub on the other. The identity of one should not be more powerful than the other or else the living is dangerous for one!!

Complementing brands that have an identity that is independent of the others strengths, attributes and values should be the ideal partner!! Thanks for the referral. Goodcrystalisation I must say :)

Dear Anurag,

Who determines the size of the brand?? A brand is a brand is a brand. What determines the reasons for a handshake between the two is the audiences, positioning and the appeal. If there is a synergy between the two here please go ahead and associate.

Why would a DLF (building & construction) presnet IPL?? is IPL bigger than DLF or vice versa? Have you seen any ads of DLF during the IPL matches?? But do you still not recall DLF?? Please understand here that the size does not matter its the strategy that the brand is employing to entice its consumers which is of any consequence to either one.

Co existence is a way for both or more to LIVE and LIVE happily ever after :)

i agree with u sir,

but just one question is there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that a small brand can never ask for A class celebrities.......... and we know celebrities can do wonders(in few cases)

so the issue is that what a small brand can do...........................

I completely agree with you Mr. Bhave. Co-existence is very important when it comes to co-branding. An important example can be association of NOKIA with RELIANCE for their WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) technology, that is a step ahead of CDMA technology.

It is great to have a business partner that has financial resources, but there are other contributions a partner can bring to the business that can be just as valuable.

A partner with a strong business network, industry connections, client list, or certain credentials and expertise can also increase the value of your business and improve your chances for achieving long-term success.

Thanks for the referral Meena Deshmukh. I will accept with your opinion. It is very important that the partners have to co-create new offerings to provide substantial increases in customers and corporate value and this is because to have a higher level of value creation.

Absolutely Meena, in Co-Branding the Most Crucial aspect is Selection of the Partner & then the Product. If your partner is efficient enough to Supply to the expected Demand with accurate precision & high quality. Then it will turn out to be Your Own Kohinoor Diamond in the Portfolio, otherwise your Partner would Screw your Mighty Reputation.

this can be done by selecting an appriopriate  liking of matchset brand of a quality product of your product,but it should the same features ,like your vidicon previously a match co. was b.p.l.now it is out of market,so you observe care fully withall features in case you want to select any thing matching or adjusting to your product,this will save the money and you can choose d.v.d or c.d. playerwhatever you like. thanks
