Meena, The arithmetic here is very simple. Its what your brand demands in terms of co existence!! How would they complement each other and yet maintain their OWN brand identity. The successes of each should rub on the other. The identity of one should not be more powerful than the other or else the living is dangerous for one!! Complementing brands that have an identity that is independent of the others strengths, attributes and values should be the ideal partner!! Thanks for the referral. Goodcrystalisation I must say :) |

Who determines the size of the brand?? A brand is a brand is a brand. What determines the reasons for a handshake between the two is the audiences, positioning and the appeal. If there is a synergy between the two here please go ahead and associate.
Why would a DLF (building & construction) presnet IPL?? is IPL bigger than DLF or vice versa? Have you seen any ads of DLF during the IPL matches?? But do you still not recall DLF?? Please understand here that the size does not matter its the strategy that the brand is employing to entice its consumers which is of any consequence to either one.
Co existence is a way for both or more to LIVE and LIVE happily ever after :)

I completely agree with you Mr. Bhave. Co-existence is very important when it comes to co-branding. An important example can be association of NOKIA with RELIANCE for their WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) technology, that is a step ahead of CDMA technology.
