I support Diya for collective decision making
It is always better to seek the views of the people who are directly involved with the subject about which we are going to take decision. After getting the views one must make the SWOT analysis of the different views. Hopefully the decision taken by this route shall be the right/best possible decision.

Taking decisions at workplace is a very tricky issue.However,whatever decisions are taken must carry authority and responsibility.You can only expect compliance and respectability if the persons or person obeying it are well aware of the consequences. |

i agree with Kavita and Snehal,The Authority with Responsibility commands maximum respect.
Most of the times many people is willing to have an Authority but when they get it, they forget their responsibility. authority is something that make man responsible for his work as he is superior than other.and everytime he / she has to prove it
People love being authoritative over the rest of the crowd at work place being in senior positions or not but somewhere they forget it comes with responsibility which should lead to collective progress and not individual progress

It is only when he/she is acutely aware of the firm’s current strengths, weaknesses and operations that decisions will be effective. |

I agree with Nikhil. Generally decision maker should oblige his direct reporters suggestions and make his own.

Well prepared historical records provide definite idea about risks or opportunities involved previously, however with the changed context at present or near future, judgement of results, estimate of efforts coupled with capabilities and knowing what is important or can not be compromised, is required. |

Decision in a workplace does not have one singular rule--it is guided by the bottom line---what effect to whom or where!!
Most of the Decision should be based on historical data/records and future implications.
Making collaborative decisions work only when you have time,is a divisional or corporate decision or plain & simple---you want to save your back---so get everyone on board.

The best decision is one which has consent of all the emploees working at different levels i.e Field staff, Supervisiory Staff and Controlling authority.Because if any thing goes wrong all the blame is on Junior most level. |

When emotions get involved the decision can become partial. Though it depends on what kind of decision is to be taken. We can never say that involving emotion would be good or bad. It will all depend on the outcome. |
