I Think. Don't try to grow up so fast! What is it that your parents are telling you? Why are they telling you this? It's not because they don't want you to have fun, or that they don't want you to do what you want to do... it is for your safety. We try to grow up too fast... replace work for collage, replace relationship for friends. |

SLOW & STEADY WINS the RACE! Children of current times are faster in thinking (they are least bothered about analysis,therefore, most importantly, succumb to pressure)! Parents are like TURTLES and the Children of current generation are like 'HARE"! You all know, apparently, whose decision lasts longer!

Just nod your head and pretend you have understood each of the points well and clear at that moment. Later sit and ponder whats been said only grow an inch taller..Because thats when you grow up and mature.

The parents have been spending, devoting,taking care & sacrificing for the development of their children whether young or grown up. Without parents the children could not have come in this world and hence the due respect & dignity shpuld be given by the children to their parents. Thanks for the referral Mr.Sameer.

I agree. By the time we all came to know that why our parents have differnet point of view from us. Why thier is always a clash between our thoughts. By time we all get the answers of these questions. They are not against us they always think best for us. But due to enviornment we are unable to understand thier point of view.We only saw our present but they always think for our future. Parents are those who always spend their presents for making our future best and secure. So thi time will help us to understand our parent's point of view.

ur right Punam, parents are gift by the god and I love my parents so much. But some cases, childrens feel they are interfering, this is wrong.

There is a technology gap between you and your parents - technology available to you today was not at all even dreamt of during their times. Also, the attitude change - social attitudes. This has to be overcome by you. Maybe you will only underastand it when you become parents and your children are xxxxx

Children should respect the age and experience of their parents. They should mull over the advice by their parents still if they feel that the advice not palatable to them then they should have a one to one talk about the subject to understand the underlying reasons of the parental advice while putting across their point of view so that the parents have also a chance to point out any flaws in their point of view or vice versa

Our Parents are Parents. They have more knowledge, experience than us irrespective of generation gap they are well aware of the wordly situation and affairs. And its a popular saying that Parents are in the form of GOD to be seen. Anything controversy may be understood, conversed well and once at all have a thought that whatever they are saying is correct.Share ur feelings, views with them convince them or get convince from them.

Hug them, gift them and share things with them. They know you even more than yourself sometimes. I miss them and think everyone does when they are not around.

Actually, Point of view of our parents are very clearly visible but we argue. Most of the times they explain us what 2 do n what not 2, they use 2 worry about us, but we dont like that and that is quite obvious. We see with our eyes n mind and our angle cant match them because of generation gap. thats it.

Quite often we do not want to hear what our parents say as we already have certain prejudices in mour minds. This blocks us from listening to what they have to say and we arrive at a conclusion even before we heard them out. Since they are our parents, we ought to give them a patient hearing and take what is good for us.

I feel parents are one step above than god..bcoz father n mother both not only feed and care you but also they even provide u their old shoulders to take rest upon it n suggest valuable suggestion when u r very upset in life .But the new generation does not care or know the value of parents idea .I have come across with many old and ailing parents who has everything in their life except .....their dearest ones ...their own children !!! How disgusting this isn't it??...so take care of ur parents share the feelings with them, give an importance ....and in turn they will shower their blessings which would work when u r in the most crucial time.....

Pay close attention to everything they have to say on the area being discussed. Take a note if you cannot memories( no shame in it). Please note that they must have already faced the situation or similar kind before hand and dealt with it. They might have succeeded or failed. If you are not comfortable discuss with them, then go to the uncles an aunts. Advantages are many. The closeness and bond will grow and you will get the satisfaction of a life time.

I think the best way to understand parents point of view is to put our self at there place as we all used to play role playing games during college or at work , so it will help us to understand point of views.......

To understand, first step is LISTEN. Today, most of us youngsters are busy with our friends, cell phones and facebook that we hardly ever Listen to what mum-dad are saying. Talking in two syllables isn't going to help. Communication is important but most important, listening to them helps. They are experienced. So what if they take time in understanding out slangs and ways. They know more to life than us, anyday. Also, it is good to share things. They get to know us better and we get to understand them better which nourishes a stronger bond.
