Well, in the world of social media, it might be more beneficial to tells the another blogger , writer, artist, musician that you appreciate what they are doing than by helping them promote their work. Try to find out what others have done to improve their own careers and learn from them about their mistakes.I think that there is no better form of advertisement then word of mouth, and social media is word of mouth in its finest incarnation.

The greatest contribution of web culture till date is social media - real empowerment - where the 'aam aadmi' can voice his feelings and connect. Traditional media have an editor who decides on the media content, in sccial media it is the participant who creates the content. Self promotion is an offshoot of certain activities. Anil Kumble is popular because he is a great bowler. Each person is great at something. Social media helps bring that element out. For instance, a guy good at painting can put the images of his paintings in his blog. In fact, the blog is the best social media tool to self express - and this creates self promotion. I have a blog too (based on my passions):www.pharmaceuticalshealthcare.blogspot.com Microblogging and community participation through message boards meaningfully - purposefully, will provide the offshoot of self promotion. Take home message: participate actively based on what you really like and are passionate about, go about the social media with a sense of purpose and fun, self-promotion will automatically take place. |
