One of the best ways to improve employee productivity & team building is to create a direct link between output and pay by implementing a piecework compensation plan. In a piecework compensation plan, there are no hourly wages. |

It is like balancing physical health and mental health of a body for a seamless journey. The productivity will increase with better physical Infrastructure while team building depends on the mental condition of the team. A good team can be build easily with good mentality people. A combination of productivity with team building simultaneously needs a balancing act of rewarding and creating love for the job and company.
I support this idea. The good performers should be rewarded.

Analysing the loopholes in their skills and competencies and performance. Devising a proper solution to mend those gaps. Once skills are upgaraded and competencies are strong definitely time and effort will be reduced, performance will be improved, defects will be reduced and productivity will go up. |

There are many things that can be said about employee productivity and team building. Sometimes improving your skills through training & development could make a person more capable & sometimes more willing to get the job done. It can be a combination of many things.
In tackling employee productivity & team building there should be rewards for the team as well as individuals, a common vision & great leadership, effective communication with a positive spirit, skill enhancement through training & development programs. There should be a balance between setting disciplinary guidelines, establishing consequences & positive reinforcement. These are some of the many good things for cohesiveness, collaboration & success in any company. Many times it’s the teamwork that helps a company to maintain a strong internal structure.Without it, many projects would fail and many businesses couldn’t succeed or struggle to survive.
Effective leadership says a lot. Sometimes to build a more effective team you have to lead by example & have good team building skills. With good team-building skills, you can unite employees around a common goal and generate greater productivity. Effective team leaders develop team relationships of trust and loyalty, instead of fear.
Team development is a continuous process that helps a team/ group evolve into a cohesive unit. Consider everyone’s input as valuable & don’t shoot down ideas until they have really been thought about or tested. Everyone should be able to discuss things in a professional manner and/ or agree to disagree then come to a conclusion. Communication is highly important. There must be clear and effective communication to help ensure that everyone is moving in the right direction.
There should be an environment in which team members are treated fairly. There should be realistic goals & objectives that correspond to the actual work being done including timeliness & work quality. It’s not just how much work that gets done but the quality of the work being done. There should be creative disciplinary guidelines that help to foster a work environment that is productive. Including positive reinforcement which is great with a system of tangible rewards.A leader should be a little more creative and innovative with their team development and management.

I think rewards may not get the desired results. Consider any great orchestra ; there are several musicians , playing different instruments. Each musician is of the highest calibre , and has the best possible instrument. You will get nothing out of this congregation , unless you have a great musical score , and a great conductor. Paying employees by their output is very logical , but there is something very soul deadening that one needs to produce a fixed quantity day after day to get one's monthly salary. People , at every level , can have off days. Team work will ensure that when one team member is unable to contribute , the others understand and help out if they can , so that the team is not dragged down by one member's inability to contribute. More than monetary rewards , team building is more by way of motivated and committed employees , rather than any specific affinity for the team. In fact , I would say , more than individual team goals , it should be the overall company goals which should be furthered by each and every employee. A motivated employee will certainly be productive , because he / she has a driving force from within. Monetary incentives can be a factor in employee productivity , but as long-term measures , you should look at other avenues. |

Employee productivity and team bonding are both consequences. The causes are lack of ambiguity in the development of the team. Clear defined roles, clear defined expectations, a mission and vission well articulated, a transparent and just rewards program that recognizes both short term and long term performance excellence and so on. If you top the list with damn good project manager who is an excellent solution provider for the team, you got yourself a recipe that will produce exactly what you are asking for.

Communication is an important factor in the build up of a team work within any organization. Lack of communication between the managers and sub ordinates makes the latter a feeling of low confidence and may feel that they are not of much important to the organization which affects the productivity. Inducing self belief among the collegues or sub ordinates will result in more positive approach towards their responsibilities and success of the company |

it is important for organisational goals to be shared with employees to understand the big picture, encourage joint goal setting and problem solving, offer the needed moral and infrastuctural and systems support to perform the job, have regular review sessions with feedback, coaching and counseling. empower people to perform with the needed freedom avoiding too close supervision, instill self-confidence and accountability, celebrate inidividual and team achievements sparingly with a word of appreciation/recognition raising the bar each time.
