Establishing right connections

idea posted by Darshana Sawant HR Manager, Leading IT services company

There should be a way in which we can establish right connections. Many times it happens that we connect with people without knowing them and thus end up feeling bad about adding them. There is no such mechanism which allows us to filter the right people.. The mechanism is the need of this hour...

,Mr Munshi we dont know who is whose spy and we land up EMOTIONALLY BLACKMAILED

Well, to avoid this kind of a situation, please remain neutral when you post something on this site. Please do not support any political party, the right or the left or the center. if you can remain neutral without supporting any side you will not be emotionally blackmailed.

This is one of the reason why stopped adding any new contacts because I found that my contacts are getting threatened and harassed by the right wing.

@Kaliyamoorthy -

Your comment "We find fake identity given in profiles , entering multiple entry by one as people do in Yahoo chats for different kind of chats, platform is free so, like to scribble whatever feel like as there is no direct scrutiny with the participants."

Yes, I agree with you 100%. Once you allow one person to get in using a fake ID and nobody opposes it, then every body gets the license to come in using a fake ID.

The ideal solution to this will be to make this site as "invitation ONLY".

There are plenty of social networking sites in other countries which are "open" and I haven't seen any nuisance as we see on this site, why? Because people are mature and know how to agree to disagree. They know how respect their opponents, how to shake hands with their opponents ( people who have a different view). That is not the case here - Here you immediately start social shaming, smear campaign etc against the person who has a different view or who doesn't agree with you. That creates lawlessness....

Once in a Quarter Meet

idea posted by S. Muralidharan Executive Director, Knowledge Foundation & Campus Around the Corner
If we can divide the members into four or five zones across the country and work out some mechanism to meet in person once in quarters, hitherto virtual network will end up in meaningful dialogue group. People would then know who to accommodate in and who to filter out!

Darshana, somebody is providing such video conferencing facility at Hyderabad for just Rs.600/- per month. It is a Microsoft venture. If interested I will try to get his card (lost it, honestly) from my Banker and can give you the details.

Some time back I read this. You treat me like a paying guest when I come to your place and I will treat you like a paying guest when you come to my place. It helps in reducing the costs. It helps a newcomer to go to various places, where he has work. It strengthens the friendship and fraternity. One must try to understand whether it works.

Exchange of Ideas and Views and bifurcation of Network types(Professional, Academics, Apprentice, mentorship etc..)

idea posted by Amit Patel Managing Director, Innovative InfoSolutions
There should be appropriate platform for exchanging ideas and views category wise and based on each topic. There should be Network type bifurcation which makes people easy to interact amongst each group like Professional network, Academics, Mentors, Apprentice etc.

" .....Even if this is done is there a method in which we can keep them from not interrupting in the areas where they are not experts? ...."

a).Are all experts always right?

b).Who certifies an expert? An 'expert' is always self-made, pure hard work from that person alone.

c).You can always create a private group where membership is by 'invitation only' (i think this is possible in toostep..not very sure), but as Bakhsh has said "What can be better way than open up across the forum and not only exchange but update professionally.".

There should be moderation at some level to make sure that based on skills and expertise they are managed in concerned network types. Initially it may be somewhat tedious, but once the network type is almost built, it might have very good impact.

Even if this is done is there a method in which we can keep them from not interrupting in the areas where they are not experts?

I find this site most patent for IT professional(HR & Others) having rich experience. If the intention is purely professional, accept the connection accordingly.Interact and elicit appropriate response.Communication through internet platform and emails are most ideal networking etiquette. You can approach through phone calls if a close friend.Effective professional networking is a continuous process and takes time, considerable effort. As for help from the connection, Madam, Networking is meant to build trust and credibility once, this is established help will not be far away.

This apart, i do not see any harm in joining mixed group or groups as it helps to appreciate divergent views ,which helps us to review our working and formulate strategy.

Ofcourse sir, we get know new things and we can update our knowledge but what else can we do. How do we strengthen ties and how can we reach to important people when we need. How can we make sure that connections we have will help us out if need to, or will atleast try and more importantly who will do that?

knowledge imparting & human relations.

I see we discuss mostly current affairs in politics, advertising, media. networking sites should not be only for discussion. it should for knowledge sharing. the people experts should teach their followers of same group about current developments in their fields, clear doubts of young professions, guide like a teacher to others in settling their career. we should bring new ideas in public governance, discuss, share it with others educate the people around us personally. slowly changes will come. we should also have platform to share humour, sad, and support each other when others are in difficult. I think without all these a social network is never achieve its goal. we members has to change and bring the change in our community.
