In a nutshell UNITY IN DIVERSITY which no country in the world can boast of.
The concept of unity despite diversity (or may be because of it!!) and despite the best efforts of our politicians is the thing that comes to mind.
The next is the dazzling culinary variety!! You can never get bored eating in India!!

I mean thats what makes India a really special place, get on a train and go along, everyday you can see the geographical changes and the changes in people, and the culture, you can't miss this thing for a world, and if anybody comes from outside and sees this country it will be like everyday he will see different languages every other day....and this diversity is what makes India a special place and people travel here and take many things with them, which all their life would never would have experienced so many things in one single country. |

Amazing that democracy is so vibrant in a country like India, given its vast diversity, deep poverty and above all numerous politicians.

It sounds great to utter. But the diversities are being pulled away threatening the unity of the country on regional, religious and on caste terms. Taking advantage of freedom speech, everybody is trying to to have his own slice from the society abetting the differences. These forces shall be kept at bay. Central leadership is failing on this front |

I think the best and only way for foreigner to know india is to live with some family and best way to do that is through cultural exchange program Only that way u know what really india is otherwise if u visit places of tourist attraction is not going to increase your knowledge abt india Though this is not the right answer to the question asked I think whatever u tell abt india to western counterpart they not going to understand unless having first hand exp of living with indian family |

Unity in diversity,it is O.K.It is high and low in cultural values,it is O.K.,Any damn thing you name ,It is O.K.What actually distinguishes India from others is its family values,mohallas,Chaupals,and the endurance which has united this land till date.The reasons therefore being its paragons who have lead this country in spite of so many paradoxes into a modern country.And so I will tell it is land of paragons.
