Hi All This topic is close to my heart. Customer Relationship mgt (CRM) is a business philosophy and set of strategies, programs, and systems that focuses on identifying and building loyalty with a retailer's most valued customers. Effectively managing merchandise inventory and the stores provides value and supports the primary objective of building customer loyalty. Following is the high level: ---Collecting Customer Data ---Analyzing Customer Data and Identifying Target Customers ---Developing CRM programs ---Implementing CRM Programs ---Customer Service --Customer Evaluation of Service Quality --Knowledge Gap - Knowing What Customers Want --The Standards Gap - Setting Service Standards --The Delivery Gap - Meeting and Exceeding Service Standards --The Communication Gap - Communicating the Service Problem --Service Recovery

very good morning to all as per as my concern is about customer relationship management its basically focus on relationships if we have good understanding or relationships with the customers we can fill all the gaps..by taking their regular feedback regarding our product or services and which is more important thing these days.
Mihir, you have put it across very broadly. Customer Relations Management is one area that has found the foremost place in the Organisations now a days, the reason being the Customers have become service oriented. Building relationships with customers become impossible if you cannot map what their needs are. Here is where CRM principles come to work.
You are right MR.Kumar, one should always remember the names of the regular customer. If you have a retail store or walk in store, you may see lots of customers coming in. Some of them might come just for a time pass and purchase nothing. But there are some who come regularly to purchase your products, make sure you know their name.Everyone likes to be recognized, and recognizing your customers will make them feel comfortable and valued. When a regular walks in, greet him warmly by name. Try to learn every customer's name, and use it. You might just create a new regular customer.

You can use CRM tools to improve your customer relations. As CRM system contains all the information about your customers ( if you are maintaining one). Then you can know what are his/her needs and update them regularly with it.

CEM (Customer experience management)is all about making a customer experience a memorable. suppose a customer is going to restaurant, he is not going there for only food but but for a different experience. In this example restaurant is service provider. Next wave may be customer expectation management.
