Reservation in any form be it caste or otherwise is bad. it creates a divide among people. When the constitution says all are equal then why allow some one to enjoy extra benefits just because he or she belongs to a particular caste or religion. But Government must support people in the weaker or economically backward to get good and quality education so that they can come up and compete with others.

I am in favor of removing all job reservation. This is being done by Politicians for their benefit. It is very unfortunate. All forms of reservations should be removed.

By definition, reservation is wrong. One must never be allowed to claim advantage over another by an accident of birth, where only merrit and performance must rule. The apathy with which govt employees work is proof of what all can go wrong due to reservation.

Reservation in any form is bad not only for the society but also for the individuals and organisations who are hiring on this basis. In my opinion for any job persons should be selected according to their skills and capabilities not for their cast or society where they belong. In the process of selection by reservation the competent people are screened out and those persons are selected who might not be fit for that job. It also discourages those persons who have been screened out because of the reservation system. I also don't support reservation for persons from BPL families. Instead of reservation they should be provided with the necessary facilities and environment where they can polish their skills and showcase their talent. In this case, it will be a fair battle for all.

Considering valued comments from Mr.V.Srinivas atleast reservation in Jobs and competetive exams should be removed. Reservation for basic education may still prevail. Once some one is educated to the level that he/she is eligible to compete there shouldnt be any further discrimination. It is not fair with so many meritorious aspirants being deprived of better opportunities on the basis of caste, Gender etc. etc.

Caste Reservation is one item that no politician wants to solve or finish. All of them want it to keep the caste bank alive. After 60 years of reservations through the constitution, the "lower classes" are still not up-lifted. Why? This is because, all the reservations are being skimmed off by the sons/daughters of highly placed but "class" people. The Chief-Secretary to the Government has his children apply via the class quota such that they can posibly get better entry positions. general Managers and Chief Executives of Public sector Undertakings make sure that their child has the "Special Class" marked out on all the applications that they make: First at the Common Entrance tests, then at the PG/MBA level, then at the Civil Services/Govt PSU application level. Genuine people who may need the reservation are weeded out, they remain downtrodden. They are downtrodden by the members of their own community who are usurping their rightful privileges. This forces the government and politicians to extend the same for a longer period. The cycle thus goes on....

I guess its the time to remove caste reservation.We say India as a democratic secular country.All religions are equal then why we stress on caste reservation.The gov shud revise the rule and should be done on income basis.Its tough procedure but surely can be changesd.

What I believe,job reservation should not be distribution of free ration at the expenses of the honest tax-payers money.It is the concept of the rascals of the society, who want only job and then do not want to work.Where is the room of the capable?

There are merit cum maintenance scholarships, existing for the last fifty years.In all states.Of course, merits have to be at that levels.Getting admission in NIT from 50% state quota is not a very big issue.Kind of pass-outs found in most NITS are no better than the street-side donation-based engineering colleges.Today, students passed with 50% marks in mathematics are also becoming engineers. 50 years back, no such student could even think/ dream of becoming engineers. Who can help you?

i am bpl candidate. however i had got the admission in national institute of technology but due to poverty i can't studied. i had to leave my study just because of my father had no money for my study.... currently the one(me) who could be a engineer is working in security company......

In India most of the poor people come under lower cast. The people like open cast may be financially poor, but they are havining better thinking ablity than poor. They are educated and people from their comunity supporting them to grow up. I have seen many cases in my proffestional life that open catagory people supports only for their people. If you see the top position is aquired by open people. The low cast people is supported by government not private sector. It is must to educate the lower cast people first, remove castisum from all minds and then asked for no reservation.

Facilitate the backward classes for education, give them loan for books & stationary, discount in college fees, giving reservation is just vote politics. only talent should challenge talent. hope people of all classes will agree to this. |

I do not agree with any kind of reservations, as it creates divisions and conflicts. if some body is economically weak or poor give them assistance and help them to come up. Reservations also creates inefficiency and incompetency

The people who are in good financial position should be evoided from getting the job reservation. The others who are under the poverty line to be uplifted in all aspects. The present system to be changed to utilise the public resources in a proper way, to educate and develop the entire society not only one community or a Group of peole.

I do not believe in reservations specially when it comes to jobs. Reservations creates division this leads to inefficiency and less productivity. For people below the poverty line proper economic assistance should be provided to educate them and bring them in par with the rest. Now the reservations are mainly enjoyed by the creamy class of the lower caste/class and the poor or the under poverty line class still remain in the same level.

First of all tell me what is poverty line and who is poor in true sense. yesterday i read about the Mumbai slums and beggars in a newspaper i was totally shocked to know about the bank balance they have. they are earning more than a class 2 govt. employ. Tell me where it is right or justice that a child working hard for admission in a reputed college also scoring good marks does not get the admission because he is General caste and on the other side his other mate scoring far less marks is getting admission on the basis of any of reserved category Quota.and also General caste candidates face same problem when they apply for govt./public sector jobs. Reservation should be given only to the physically challenged who really face problems in teir routine work/life. |

Yes Sandeep, you have caught the issue by the tail;who will define where poverty line has to be drawn?Dishonest manipulation is not an issue to most of our countrymen.Many 'POOR' people drive cars and do not pay any taxes.Another set of 'POOR'entrepreneurs put all their personal and family expenses in the accounts of their companies and show that the company cannot pay any taxes.People are shameless and will not mind to resort to any means to get their wards admitted, proving themselves poor!Less are the quotas,laws and rules, better justices will prevail. Thanks.

Hi think the centra govt. needs to rethink on the reservation system. Now in the current generation reservation play no rule. We have to get our education system out of the political cluthes and have corporate indiviuals promoting various colleges. Now we find people who score the best and worst in the best of colleges thanks to reservations.... but whst about the people who are average and above average...... the numbers are higher in that segment. No wonder 50% of bankers are engineers... Y waste a seat in Engineering doing masters and then a MBA and do a job in a call center backend process!! i guess companies should start investing in colleges, rather than hiring for campus they should teach and train them from the grass root. this will help mould a person technically and also practically sound for any job one opts for.If this prevails in the system in a united fashion among the corporates am sure poverty too will play a minimal factor for any student who is worthy. |

Government should take steps towards 100% education & development of Basic facilities.. Once Education is ensured for all, then qualifications will ensure Jobs... Government & private sector have to generate employment avenues..reservation is not the solution for all times...
