CRM is wide variety tool offered in many diffrent packages by many diffrent companies, popular ones like Peoplesoft. The whole idea is to have a single tool to access many diffrent databases in a single view. Priortizing clients by purchase behaviour history in corporate sales, in Retail it could be used to catogorize shelf products on FIFO(First in First out) due to shelf life and dynamic market, CRM tool could suggest store manager what discount to be given or purcase history of sales could idicate which shelves most sales take place so that the products could be placed there. For IT Sales, it could mean priortizing and creating new modules and software as per past purchase behaviour of various clients and  their needs.

I Agree with This. I used to work with a broking company where they were using CRM as one of the very effective mechanism to improve productivity. CRM Captures every detail of the customer including at what time one should call customer. CRM helps us to provide the most effective solution to the customer's problem

Both Sales People and IT professionals loathe having to get out of the CRM system into another system to manage opportunities and forecast. But the key aspect of a CRM solution is to keep track of each and every single needs of one's customers which is definitely overlooked of the reason explained in the opening words

Sales person often spend most of the time prioritizing the lead, and sometimes spends lot of time on the lead which is of no use ( which will not close). CRM can help Sales person in prioritization those, by tagging the lead at different stages of sales cycle.

CRM can be used as an open forum where you give the consumer a chance to interact with his 'fav' brand or 'not so fav' brand or 'hate it' brand! I believe if you have a raging bull in the arena, tackle him head on with the people present. Gives the company a big boost which directly says 'WE CARE'.

Use the same forum on the website and ask people to BLOG about their experiences and answer queries or even hate blogs. Address them directly to tell the others that you are around, you care and you know what to do next!!

If you meticulously collect customer opinion as to what products fall in 'favourite', 'not so favourite' & 'Hate it' for them, the information can be analysed in conjuction with the demographic details like Age, Gender, Location, etc. This provides usefull insight & guidance for making further Prospecting efforts to the similar customers of similar age group. I've done many such follow-up surveys over internet & phone while working in Ugam Solutions, which does Market Research over Internet

I think most of the sales professional gets lost in closing more deals as a result they forget to follow up.

Later on they juggle follow up calls and remembering all of the relevant information for each lead. Company can lose new customers if there is any error.

Using CRM, is a simple way to help Sales professionals in follow up with the built in reminders. Also by simple tagging ,CRM with built in conveyor belt can send regular communications to leads and prospects.

I guess for every sales professional creating quotes for the prospects can take longer time and using CRM tool can speed up the process. CRM tools like C2 CRM can help sales professionals in creating complex quotes instantaneously.

A good CRM can help you in short term, long term sales activities, can help you pitch a product to the customer as it becomes available if the requirements are recordeed correctly while using the system, can really tell you the sales perfomance perse the no. of propects to customer ratio, can help you achieve your targets if it it monitored properly, can help you communicate with the customer on new launches, exciting happenings at your company, any announcement can be quickly communicated to the customers and propects
