In this time of recession green technology has been an important area to be developed.Every organizations is getting into green investments. This article tells about the loop holes on where we are lagging....

In a world that is urgently seeking technological answers to climate change, the quality of Indian research on renewable and clean energy has been deteriorating, a government study has found.

This has serious implications for a rapidly developing nation such as India because it means indigenous green technology would be hard to come by. It also potentially ties the country down to imports, which are often expensive and have severe technology restrictions, especially with respect to intellectual property.

Lagging behind in application of researches and ideas

idea posted by BEENA AGARWAL Head/VP/GM-Corporate Planning/Strategy, ANADI HI TECH AGRO PVT LTD

Though there are many fruitful ideas and researches come up everyday but actual application of these in practical is very less.Government as well as common persons should try to implement these in routine life day by day.For example growing trees with every house, office factories ,taking care of electricity wastage, putting solar energy in large scale (initially government can apply this to make people aware),taking care of rural areas for full utilisation with great return of agricultural land(without any motivation of political issue!) etc.etc.

Our country has lots of resources which is not beeing used for our sake..If appropriate support and guidance is given,we will make our nation as great in the world. There is nothing out of our country to be purchased for our growth. It's only due to lagin application of our researches on our resources..

Beenaji is quite right and I feel Government alongwith NGOs, social service groups and banking institutions must provide the support and motivation (Finance, moral and otherwise)

Can we join together to do something about it ... ?

India lagging behind in Quality

idea posted by Vineet Prakash Sales/BD Manager, Tata Power

The atricle states that Govt study found out that the number of papers of technology has gone up but the quality has fallen. India has proven its quality of technology in many sectors. In this present scenario of recession India has to speed up its quality of research & development in cases of emergency on green technology development.

What are your thoughts on it?

India has a lot of talent and core competencies but it sometimes lacks in quality . as the systems and applications are old , they need to be modified according to the competencies.

Thank you for the comments put on the topic. I think we have to focus on the renewable resources for the living of people in our country. The govt has to take serious actions against deforestation because of the increasing carbon emission in the country.

Before we go for research in green technology we must get accommodated and very well acquainted to the environment such as living in the atmosphere and going for non conventional energy living where a/c,computer,small car and motor cycle, cooking medium i.e source of cooking(bio gas etc.)should be made available rather an area or big locality should be developed.

deployment of energy efficient or say green technology requires huge funds at all level.be it research and development ,trials ,acquisition or maintainance such technology . that's the reason ,why both private and public sector are shying away for implementing it.it will incur huge cost .
