I believe that SONIA GANDHI is the women of the year 2009.. The way she has lead the Congress from front, way she has brought the party with majority, way she has not being in the position handling the government. She stands to be most powerfull women without holding and position in the government. |

Sonia gandhi s more dynamic than any other politician today.She is so decisive just like her mother in law shrimathi Indira Gandhi. Only  a decisive politician can be a better leader. Since the 1991 assassination of her husband, Rajiv Gandhi, she has moved in and out of the shadows in the leadership of the most powerful political party in India, and been elected several times to Parliament. After Congress managed to put together a coalition in 2004, she declined the post of Prime Minister, nominating Manmohan Singh instead. Since then, though, she has emerged as the true power behind Congress, energizing the base and preparing her son Rahul for the job of Congress leader and potential Prime Minister.Hats off to Her!

India has been on the global map for thousands of years. India does not need any one specific person to take her on the Global map.
Surely, Majumdar has taken her company on the global map, and I do not think her company is the only global company India has right now.
And taking her company to global level, I do not think she should be selected as "the woman of year", if this award is for Indian woman of year !
Yes this woman is truly awesome, she first started this company in a small garage or something developing enzymes with few microbiologists and others at that time, but then she took the company from the scratch to till where it is having patents in various drug categories, and making huge profits. If Narayana murthy Infosys chairman who paved the way for IT in the country She paved the way for Biotechnology in the country and showed the world that India is not only rich in IT professionals, but also with BT sector India is a leading...According to me she is the woman of the year.....

I vote for Sheela Deexit. She is the best CM our India has and most important, she is not in any kind of corruption, rude, any bad stuff that can spoil her image. We can see the growth of Delhi in her existense. She is perfect in every sense. Proud to have her as a part of India. |

Of course it is mayavati, see her commitment to install her statues by provisioning and deploying more than Rs. 1200 Crores, despite opposition by the opposition and ruling government at the center including intervention of high court and supreme courts [poor people, agriculturists, taxpayers money] to establish her presence even after her death? but it is both kiran bedi and sonia gandhi who should be acknowledged! |
