India has the strength of its trained man power and the knowledge base. They also have a good network of research laboratories that help these skilled labor to use their skills in developing or innovating products that will be hit products in the bio-tech field

yes even i too agree with this idea, as India is becoming more and more young as 60% of population is below the age of 30 which is very good, because India has more number of English speaking professionals than UK, and India is cheap, you can get things done for very less budget.
Yes I agree with Rajneesh as India has got huge skilled manpower ,which can devot themselves to reach their goal sincerely too.Also labour charges are cheaper than the whole world.India has got vast scope to develop this technology.

There are well developed base industries like the pharmaceutical and seeds. These will give indian bio technology field an added advantage in its growth and development

Its not these alone there is a lot that could be in trangenics for Biofuels,Bioplastics.
we need to invest in R&D and there should Policy support and Investment support to Ideate.

yes I agree with daniel here, India welcomed biotechnology with open arms as it did the same for IT industry in the past, and it has more to do with the number of people interested in the subject,as one can see many students enrolling themselves for these courses...and India with great companies like biocon and others who are into production and other stuff are really well positioned in the scheme of things for biotechnology.
