Government should generate an identification of all the legal job agents having licence. Whenever one approaches an agent, he should check his authorisation first. For this, government can set up the names or offices of all its recognised agents in an Internet websites and anybody doing these without licence, should immediately be put behind the bars. Also people should be educated about these people and the way of recognising the correct one. |

Anything the Goverment starts will sound good but down the line they will loose control over it and again the corruption happens by them... Its all money... Proper awarness about the same will bring some kind of curb on this but not totally...
Hi All, The Emigration Act, and Rules, 1983 governs the recruitment of Indians for foreign jobs. Every Recruiting Agent (RA) in India is required to register with the Protector General of Emigrants (PGOE), New Delhi by depositing Rs.20 Lakhs with the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA). This money will be used for protecting Indian workers incase the RA or the foreign employer have failed to do so. Further, RAs are required to publish their MOIA registration number on all their advertising material, and display the same at a conspicuous place in their office, and file compliance report with PGOE on a monthly basis. I thing the law is quiet clear on this, however, the awareness is missing.
I will go with you Neelima. Navjeet I second you as well but I find Neelima's approach more practical. The government should take this initiative in creating awreness about agents that the government has accredited with helping people find suitable openings for jobs abroad.
thanks for the referral Neelima! :)
Good Idea we cannot completely erradicate it but curb to certain level for sure by awarenes....

There's nothing, Neelima, that one could do with whatever happens in other countries. For its our own ountrymen who get taken by all false promises, handover their passports, job permits, cash and other such things to agents, and that too in a different country alltogether. Being driven by false promises, high aspirations & flashy lifestyle, all such countrymen realise it the hard way that all that glitters is not gold. The best way we could stop this DUPING act is to create ample and appropriate employment opportunities herein as this mostly happens to people from low and middle class and low / semi educated in qualifications. And in case there would be enough options within, why should anybody look to the outside world? And, just in case this is to happen with the Indian educated class, then turn to GOD, thump your chest and say ALL IS WELL before cursing yourself. |

I completely agree to your argument, Navjeet. Instead of running after opportunities abroad and getting stranded there, the attitude should be to find opportunities in India. For this to happen, government should take more initiative in creating job opportunities. There should be strong support from the leading industrialists in this aspect. If they do so, they are sure to benefit as it would get more skilled employees.

Well, that's a type of fraud that occured, and using job recruitment process was only one of the way to do the fraud. Preventing this is one step ahead of the situation, where today many companies, job recruitment agencies, or private job firms openly claim fake/wrong identities of the companies, CMMI levels, processes, job details and profile... in many cases, policies and rules too have double meaning, that can be used for legal boundations . That needs govt control. Normal public can do something, only by voting the governments that help keeping transparency in the business processes ( that also involves job recruitment processes) . |

The government can take steps to reduce such activities. But in U.S.A. when one terrorist attack happened the government took efforts to put an end to terrorism in the country. You know the situation in India. The government is finding every way to levy taxes or earn money from common people. But it says that it does not have enough funds for this. How can we expect such a government to take care of this. The only option is to find out ways to select and allow people to control government activities. |
