Prioritise

idea posted by Srikanth M HR Manager, Accenture

Take stock of your priorities. Opt for a practical and viable option, taking into account factors like the risk involved, financial obligations, responsibilities, lifestyle, etc. Without thinking about that one should not take a single step ahead.

Yes I agree with you. Weighing your potential against the aspiration you have. Many a times, we aspire a thing that we can not attain it. So better, try to achieve a goal lesser than that so that it can be launch-pad for the Next.

Never blame on last employer for your job switching

idea posted by Jagdeep Kaur (vp@hrglobeconsulting.com) Vice President, HR Globe Consulting
Job switches don’t look good on resumes, especially if the duration of work period is less than 6 months. So make sure one has good explanations for it. Employers don't want you to say that you were not gelling well with the company resources or you were failing in your assignments but they also don't want that you blame your previous company's dwindling future that made you switch. So choose your answers carefully before you go for an interview. Frequent job switching is good for employee but definitely not for the employer! Ii is better if you have time and resources at your disposal, then you can switch to experiment and to learn what’s really good for your career then after finding what really can make you satisfied, stick to that company for at least 1 year.

SAFETY AND SECURITY IS THE PRIME THING IN ANY JOB. QUESTIONS MAY ARISE IS THIS SWITCH NECESSARY AT THIS JUNCTURE? AM I DOING THE RIGHT MOVE? OR SHALL I TAKE UP THE INTERVIEW IN ORDER TO KNOW WHERE I STAND AND THEN DECIDE.IF I TAKE UP WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS / DESIGNATION / HIERARCHY / MARKET VALUE / AND SO ON AND SO FORTH. IT IS SELF INTROSPECTION THE KEY WORD FOR ANY DECISION WEATHER IT IS PERSONAL OF OFFICAL

Before switching have a close look at the new job/work environment that you will be going in to.Most people regret after switching to a new company & they again start switching within a year or so because they dont feel comfortable their & sometime are not able to handle the pressure.

Ability of work and Job Satisfaction

idea posted by Chetan Pancholi Project Engineer, Tamboli Castings limited
I have seen that most of the people lives the job because of Job satisfaction. Job satisfaction includes many things like Money, Harassment from Boss, Work areas and many more. If you are switching the job and going at other place then keep in mind that, are you able to go over there ? means, do you have sufficient knowledge to do that work ? and will that job can give you a proper satisfaction or not? if yes then go ahead.

Clarity regarding reason(s) for shifting the job is most important!

idea posted by Harmohan Kawatra Freelancer
When one is not clear about why he wants a change, even priortising may become defective! No doubt, priortising is VERY VERY important, but this assumes that we are able to be that rational. Of course never blame any one, least of all the former employer for change of job. Take full responsibilty and change if you feel you'll be happier in the new place, and for this you should love the work that you'll do and your loved ones will be happier at the new place. In ay job, one should be like fish in water - at home at all times!!!
