Honourable living is about accomplishment not just achievement. Honour and honourable living has many dimensions. It relates to individual, professional and social. All these dimensions are interconnected and influence one another. Weakness in any area could disrupt living with respect and dignity. A society is nothing but a composite of individuals is called culture. Some culture are more conducive to honourable living than others. In those cultures, trust and transparency lead to general well-being of people.

Generally, culture influences individual behaviour.
Ocassionally, a strong individual emerges from the same culture and changes the direction of that culture for eternity.

In order to live with honour, we need to define the two words:

1. Honour - is to live with dignity
2. Honourable - is to be worthy of respect

Honourable living involves a sense of human dignity. In order to live with dignity we need to have a sense of:

1. Fairness - leads to justice
2. Empathy - leads to compassion
3. Integrity - leads to trust

The above three elements only come into play when there is vision in society. A visionary person must come up from within to bring and keep the society on track.

The biggest advantage of honourable living is that it gives meaning to life. A person feels complete, fulfilled and gratified which is the ultimate objective of an honourable person.

Principles of honour

1. values are universal and eternal (truths don't change with time and calender)

2. Fleeting values (when people don't have the right values, what do they do? they lie to their employees and employers., customers and colleagues., spouse and children)

3. consistency ( it does not mean repeating the same behavior all the time. It means behaving in the same way under similar situations)

4. Character ( it is about integrity, honesty, ethics, conscience, loyality, mental toughness, courage and consistency).

5. Integrity ( a person is not measured by his status or profession but by his conduct)
