It is seen that global luxury brands are more to satiate their appetite. Leading international luxury names such as Zegna, Hermes and Canali have chosen India as the face of their global advertising campaigns. Many Indian places and locations  shot for ad campaign. The royal palaces, hustle-bustle of the main road and ancient havelis were some of the locations where the various images are shot.
Why do you think all global brands desire a touch of Indian presence?

Growing Indian economy and change in indian lifestyle!!

idea posted by Manish N Chugh Officer Trainee, Stock Holding Corporation of India ltd.,

The India a decade ago and now has seen a drastic change, well in economy term and growing lifestyle too. One of main reason for the foreign brands to go through india is its population growth, and this increase in customer base is not only number wise but in knowledge and lifestyle wise too. Another change one can notice is : today's people are not looking at money to greater extent when compared to brand. Today we are paying for brand and quality which were'nt doing so a decade back. So the India today has or is knowing and beliving more in " Quality comes with Price ". So i personally feel these reason and increase in wants of the indians, the foreign brands more attracted to us than any other countries!!  ---- Thank you, Manish N.

Cheers!!

India's younger generation population is almost 47% of our current 1 billion population and by 2015, Indians under 20 will make up 55% of the population. This gives immense opportunity for luxury brands to create awareness in the long run to capture market share of these young indians.

This is the real reason!! Good idea and thought there Manish...

The change in economic status of India Inc and its emergence as a Power in the IT sector particularly has definitely made it mandatory for global brands to have a quantum presence in India. Also, it means that whenever there is a foreigner on delegation of his Indian office duties they want their consumers to be comfortable with a brand that is available back home!! This is the significant shift in the thought process of a global brand!!

indian shores are getting crowded by more and more firangis accepting job repsonsibilities and hence the presence of their brands is also essential. Add to it the economic shift in India's staus and the spending capacity of the Indian traveller who has now become a globe trotter... Its not really surprising that global brands vie for the INDIA PIE!!!

Good one Akhilesh... I would have put it in a debate mt friend... :))

India culture of heritage and identity

idea posted by Akhilesh Majumdar Logistics Manager, Tesco

The foreign marketers want to show to the international customer that they have a global approach. It is seen as a tribute to the country without losing its identity or heritage. India's known places like Jaipur, Kerala are ideal for them to have an eclectic mix of tradition as well as modernity by which they can get attention for their luxury brands.

Foreign Brand positioning strategy

idea posted by Purvi Ghosh Marketing analyst, Percept Advertising

The Foreign companies are aware of their marketing strategies and they adopt their brands to be positioned in the mind of consumers which involves the middle class and the rich class with youth influence in the global market. In my opinion, this is brand positioning strategy by foreign marketers for their luxury brands.

Capture the Indian market share

idea posted by Kavitha Shankar Sr/Principal Coresspondent, ABC

The Indian commodity market is one of the largest market after china. When the foreign brands adopt the Indian culture, it helps the luxury brands to easily capture the Indian market share. Where there is a huge competition in global market, this helps them to create an identity for their luxury brands in global.

To Associate the brands with Indian Royale Heritage

idea posted by ujjval jain Retail, Retail

Its just another marketing strategy for them, as royal palaces, havelies, places like Taj, old forts etc tales the saga of princely states in India & their royal, sumptuous & extra lavish style of livelihood.

People abroad, especially in the western world are always fascinated by such lifestyles as one can witness & analyze from the travel & tourism industry in India (most of them find Places like Rajsthan to be most attractive due to the same reason).

So such things add value to their brand.

Moreover, as I feel, there are still limited opportunities in India for such high end brands.
