The problem faced by Hunter Gatherer socieities of old times, which made them go extinct was that they couldn't make out the non-obvious connection between moral principles and general welfare. Western societies were created with this connections strengthened in their administration of just socieites. I think India and Indians face the same problem the hunter gatherer socieities of yester years faced. At work place an employee need be fearful and concentrate on functionality of outcomes of short and long term goals. He should be concious about the welfare of his colleagues as well as customers. There need not be room for indignition, righteous or unrighteous. |

Foremost mantra depends on where you are working and who your boss is.
Your success will depend primarily on how much you keep your boss happy!Or keeping boss of your boss happy!!
This is my conclusion after working for 34 years in Government organisations.
However good or great professional you are and you slog 24x7 with dedication, efficiency and honesty,you shall never be personally successful, unless your boss is happy.
So attitudes of yours have to match with the attitudes of your boss first!!!

A mantra for success at work? most people use the mantra of cunning,guile and of looking good in front of the boss.But what i ask is do we need it? only a person who is not good at what he does and does not believe in his own ability to make things happen resorts to such means. A person with Faith in his own ability to do things works towards that end. He/she will have no time for politicking but will focus all his energy towards his personal growth and development and in this process will grow the company he works for, proving his worth may take longer but it is much more sure than in the case of someone who has spent his time only managing impressions.Even if he/she is not valued where he is at this moment he stands to lose nothing since along his journey to the top, he has only further refined himself into what can be called into a truly successful person.
